Orthodox prayer for the repose of the soul of the newly deceased. Prayer for the deceased after a long illness

  • 29.09.2019

What would it mean that we wish nothing for our deceased brothers and ask for nothing in our prayers for them except peace? Obviously, such a request implies a lack of peace in them. But where does this shortcoming come from? We may lack peace from illness and bodily ailments: there is no body, there are no bodily illnesses. We are worried about poverty and shortcomings in life's needs: there is no such poverty, there is no need for food or clothing. Among us, people worry and suffer from oppression and untruths: there is no place for violence; everyone gets their due. Why do our departed brothers lack peace? The first reason for this arises from our world, which they left behind. It is not in vain that it is said, my brethren, in the Gospel that where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:21). This treasure may consist not only in riches and jewels, but in everything to which our heart is strongly attached, even if it is the smallest and most insignificant. Now imagine that a person has ended his life and departed from this world. If his treasure, that is, to which his heart is attached, was in heaven, consisted of spiritual and eternal blessings, then he immediately begins to use it and therefore is completely calm: for he has achieved what he wanted, has what he loves. But imagine that heaven was alien to him, that this treasure remained on earth, that he sees and feels that he has lost it forever. Isn’t it obvious that this should result in sorrow and languor in the poor soul? That she will torment and suffer until she frees herself from attachment to what she left on earth? Could this happen soon? and is the poor soul able to do this on its own? For this, a complete change is necessary in all her thoughts and feelings, it is necessary that she stop loving, consider that in which she had hitherto believed all her bliss to be bad and unworthy of herself, and begin to find pleasure in that which previously did not interest her at all, was her even disgusting. All this, by the very nature of our soul, cannot happen in a person without great violence to his inclinations, without a strong struggle with his heart and, therefore, not without severe suffering.

It is from this inner languor that we ask for reassurance to our fathers and brothers who have departed from us. God rest, we say, their souls! Bring into oblivion all earthly vanity, remove their hearts from addiction to the corruptible things they have abandoned, so that they may learn to find food and joy not in the possession of fleeting goods, but in the fulfillment of Thy holy will, and may they be jealous of the example of the pure spirits surrounding Thy throne, and Having begun to live their lives, may they thus find peace for their troubled thoughts and feelings!
The second reason that takes away the peace of our brothers who have passed on from here may be hidden in them themselves, in their conscience, which denounces wrongdoing and threatens them with terrible judgment.
And throughout his life, the sinner suffers remorse, but these remorse are weak because conscience does not always act strongly. Moreover, a person finds here different ways to drown out his conscience. Not so after death. There is nothing there to drown out the conscience. There the soul, one might say, consists entirely of conscience; therefore, her remorse for sins is not only great, but also small, irresistible and grave.

But since it is difficult to find a person who would not take his sins with him to the grave, there is no person, excluding the perfect righteous, who would not suffer after death from the reproaches of his conscience.

Bearing in mind this state of our departed brothers, the Holy Church, out of love for them, compels us to turn with prayer for them to the Lord of the living and the dead. Give rest, O Lord, to the souls of Your departed servants, we cry: touch, that is, with Your grace their conscience and pacify it! Pour the oil of Thy mercy on the inner ulcers of their hearts! may the inner flame go out, may the worm tormenting the soul be destroyed. Waiting with trepidation for Your future judgment, may they at the same time see with the eyes of faith in the Person of the Judge and their Intercessor and may they rest in trust in His all-covering merits!

So, let us unremittingly pray for the departed and call upon them peace from the Lord. Meanwhile, while praying for them, let us not forget our own lot that awaits us. For what happens to them now will happen to all of us. They can no longer return to us to restore peace to their souls! And nothing prevents us from taking all measures for our future peace after death.

For this purpose, firstly, let us hasten to free ourselves, as much as possible, from all earthly bonds and attachments, so that after death nothing draws our soul and heart down - let us not love, as the Gospel teaches, anything more than God: then after death we We will be free and happy with our participation. Secondly, let us hasten to wash away our iniquities with tears of true repentance and put on faith in the merits of Christ. In this way we will be reconciled with God and our conscience; and, reconciled, after death we will have no reason to be indignant at the presentation of our sins as already blotted out by the cross of Christ.
Thirdly, let us protect ourselves, by the grace of God, from all slander of the spirit of darkness. For whoever watches himself, says St. John, is not touched by the evil one. Having not received our rights over us here through sin and passion, he will not therefore dare to approach us there either. Briefly, let us accustom ourselves on earth to live according to heaven: and heaven, where we go, will accept us as its own; we will enter an element already familiar to ourselves, in which we will therefore not be greeted by illness and sighing, but by peace and joy, which may it be given to us all to receive by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, to Him be glory forever! Amen.

Akathist for the repose of the dead

Kontakion 1

By an incomprehensible providence, prepare the world for the good of the eternal, having determined the times and manner of death by man, leave, O Lord, all their sins to those who have died from eternity, accept me into the abode of light and joy, open the Father’s embrace to them, longing and hearing us, who commemorate them and sing:

Ikos 1

Saving fallen Adam and the entire human race from eternal destruction, You sent Thy Son into the world, for through the Cross and His resurrection He raised up eternal life for us. Trusting in Your immeasurable mercy, in anticipation of the imperishable Kingdom of Your Glory, we ask and pray to grant this to the departed:

O Lord, rejoice the souls weary of the storms of life, and consign the sorrows and sighs of earth to oblivion.

Hear, O Lord, in Your bosom, as a mother does to her children, and the rivers to them: Your sins are forgiven you.

Accept me, O Lord, into Thy blessed and quiet refuge, so that they may rejoice in Thy divine glory.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 2

We enlighten with the illumination of the Almighty, the Venerable Macarius heard a voice from the skull of a pagan: “When you pray for those who suffer in hell, there is joy for the pagan.” Oh, the wondrous powers of Christian prayers, the image of the underworld is illuminated! The unfaithful and the faithful alike receive consolation, when we cry out to the whole world: Alleluia.

Ikos 2

Isaac the Syrian once said: “A merciful heart for people and animals and for all creatures brings tearful prayers every hour, so that they may be protected and purified.” In the same way, we all boldly ask the Lord for help to all those who have died from time immemorial, crying out:

Grant us, O Lord, the gift of flaming prayer for the dead:

Remember, Lord, all those who were buried without prayer; accept, Lord, into Thy villages, all who died in vain from sorrow or joy.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

The everlasting psalter

The indefatigable Psalter is read not only about health, but also about peace. Since ancient times, ordering a commemoration on the Everlasting Psalter has been considered a great alms for a departed soul.

It is also good to order the Indestructible Psalter for yourself; you will feel the support. And one more important point, but far from the least important,
There is eternal remembrance on the Indestructible Psalter. It seems expensive, but the result is more than millions of times more than the money spent. If this is still not possible, then you can order for a shorter period. It's also good to read for yourself.

Kontakion 3

We are to blame for the misfortune of the world, for the suffering of dumb creatures, for the illnesses and torments of virgin infants, for through the fall of people the bliss and beauty of all creation will be destroyed. O greatest of the innocent sufferers, Christ our God! You alone are able to let everyone go. Let everyone and everything go, grant the world pristine prosperity, the dead and the living, and they will convert, crying out: Alleluia.

Ikos 3

Quiet light, Redeemer of the whole universe, embrace the whole world with love: behold, Thy cry is heard from the cross about Thy adversaries:

"Father, let them go!" In the name of Your all-forgiveness, we dare to pray to the Heavenly Father for the eternal rest of Your enemies and ours:

Forgive, Lord, those who have shed innocent blood, who have strewn our path of life with sorrows, who have built up their prosperity with the tears of their neighbors.

Do not judge, O Lord, those who persecute not with slander and malice, but reward with mercy those who have been wronged or insulted out of ignorance, and may our holy prayer for them be the sacrament of example.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 4

Lord, save those who died in grave torment, those killed, buried alive, buried in earth, swallowed up by waves and fire, torn apart by beasts, from hunger, frost, storm or falling from a height, and grant them Your eternal joy for the sorrow of death. May they bless the time of their suffering, like the day of redemption, singing: Alleluia.

Ikos 4

To all who have received the essence of the grave in bright youth, who have received the crown of thorns of suffering on earth, who have not seen the joys of earth, reward with Your endless bounty love, Lord.

Under the heavy burden of labor, wait for the dead to receive reward.

Receive, O Lord, the youths and virgins into the devils of paradise and grant me joy at the supper of Your Son.

Calm, Lord, the grief of parents for their dead children.

Give rest, O Lord, to all those who have no family or seed; for them there is no one to offer a prayer to You, the Creator, may their sins disappear from the radiance of Your all-forgiveness.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 5

As the last sign of admonition and repentance, you have granted death, O Lord. With its menacing brilliance, its earthly vanity is laid bare, carnal passions and suffering subside, and the inflexible mind is humbled. Eternal truth is revealed, but those burdened with sins and atheists on their deathbed confess Your eternal existence and cry out to Your mercy: Alleluia.

Ikos 5

Father of all consolation, You illuminate with the sun, You delight with fruits, You make friends and enemies joyful with the beauty of the world.

We believe that even beyond the grave Your mercy, which has mercy on all rejected sinners, is not exhausted.

We grieve over the bitter and lawless blasphemers of Your Shrine.

Be, O Lord, Your saving good will over them.

Leave, O Lord, those who have died without repentance, save those who have destroyed themselves in the darkening of their minds, so that the flame of their sinfulness may go out in the sea of Thy grace.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 6

Terrible is the darkness of the soul, removed from God, the torment of the conscience, the gnashing of teeth, the unquenchable fire and the undying worm. I tremble at such fates and, as for myself, I pray for those suffering in hell. May our song descend upon her like the dew of cooling:

Alleluia.

Ikos 6

Shine Your light, O Christ our God, upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death and in hell, those who are unable to cry out to You.

You have descended into the underworld of the earth, bring, O Lord, to the consolation of your sins, those who are separated from You, but have not renounced You, Your children, who suffer so much, I have mercy:

Having sinned in heaven and before You, their sins are immeasurably grave, but Your mercy is immeasurable.

Visit the bitter poverty of souls distant from You, have mercy, O Lord, who have persecuted the truth out of ignorance, awaken for them Your love not with scorching fire, but with heavenly coolness.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 7

Helping His right hand to His departed servants, appearing to them, O Lord, in mysterious visions, clearly inspiring them to prayer, and remembering those who have departed, doing good deeds and labors for them, crying out: Alleluia.

Ikos 7

The Universal Church of Christ continually offers hourly prayers for the departed throughout the entire earth, for the sins of the world are washed away by the Most Pure Blood of the Divine Crown, from death to life and from earth to heaven the souls of the departed by the power of prayers for them before the altars of God.

Be, Lord, the intercession of the Church to the dead as a ladder to heaven:

I have mercy, Lord, through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints.

Forgive them the sins of Your faithful ones who cry out to You day and night.

For the sake of babies, have mercy on those who are kind, O Lord, have mercy on their parents, and redeem their mothers with your tears for the sins of their children.

For the prayers of the innocent sufferer, for the blood of the martyr, have mercy and have mercy on the sinner.

Accept, Lord, our prayers and alms, as a remembrance of their virtues.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 8

The whole world is a common sacred grave; in every place there are ashes of our father and brothers. The only one who has invariably loved us, Christ our God, has forgiven all who have died from the beginning until now, until they sing with immeasurable love: Alleluia.

Ikos 8

The day of life is coming, like a burning furnace, the great and terrible day of the Last Judgment, human secrets will be revealed, the books of conscience will be unraveled... “Make your peace with God!” - cries the Apostle Paul: “Be reconciled before that terrible day.” - Help us, Lord, to fill what is missing in the dead with the tears of the living.

May we, Lord, sound the angelic trumpet of salvation as a gospel to them and grant them joyful mercy at the hour of Your judgment.

Crown, O Lord, with glory those who suffered for You and cover with Your goodness the sins of the weak.

Lord, knower of all by name, remember those who were saved in other honors, remember the blessed shepherds from their children.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember the blessings of Your servant.

Sorokoust about repose

This type of commemoration of the dead can be ordered at any hour - there are no restrictions on this either. During Great Lent, when the full liturgy is celebrated much less frequently, a number of churches practice commemoration in this way - in the altar, during the entire fast, all the names in the notes are read and, if the liturgy is served, then parts are taken out. You just need to remember that people baptized in the Orthodox faith can participate in these commemorations, just as in the notes submitted to the proskomedia, it is allowed to include the names of only baptized deceased.

Kontakion 9

Bless the passing time. Every hour, every moment brings us closer to eternity. New sorrow, new gray hair are the herald of the world to come, a witness to the corruption of the earth, as everything is fleeting, proclaiming that the eternal Kingdom is drawing near, where there are no tears, no sighs, but joyful singing: Alleluia.

Ikos 9

Just as a tree loses its leaves over time, so too do our days become impoverished through colic. The celebration of youth is fading, the lamp of joy is extinguishing, the alienation of old age is approaching. Friends and relatives die. Where are you young rejoicings? Their graves are silent, but their souls are in Your right hand. We imagine their gaze from the immaterial world.

Lord, You are the bright sun, illuminate and warm the departed villages.

May the time of bitter separation pass forever.

Grant us a joyful meeting in heaven.

Create, O Lord, that we may all be one with You.

Return, O Lord, to those who have lost their childhood the purity and complacency of youth, and may the holiday of Easter be an eternal life for them.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kodak 10

Shedding quiet tears at the graves of our relatives, we pray with hope and cry out with hope: Tell us. Lord, how you have forgiven their sins! Give a mysterious revelation of this to our spirit, let us sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 10

Looking around, I see the whole path of our past life, how many people there are, from the first day to the present, and many of them have done good things for us. Repaying my due love by this, I cry out to You: Grant, O Lord, the glory of heaven to my parents and my neighbor, who were awake over my infant bed, raising and raising me.

Glorify, Lord, before the holy angels, all who preached the word of salvation to me, goodness and truth, who taught me by the holy example of their lives.

Delight, O Lord, those who in the days of my sorrow served with hidden manna.

Reward and save all virtues and virtues.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 11

Where are you, the sting of death, where is the darkness and fear that existed before? From now on, you are desired and inseparably united with God. Great rest, mystical Sabbath. The desire of the imam to die and be with Christ, the Apostle cries out. Likewise, we, looking at death as the path to eternal life, will cry: Alleluia.

Ikos 11

The dead will be resurrected and those who are in the tombs will rise, and those who live on the earth will rejoice, as spiritual bodies will arise, brightly glorified, incorruptible. Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord: “Behold, I will bring the breath of life into you and put sinews on you, and I will bring flesh on you and spread skin over you.” Arise from ancient times, the redemption of the blood of the Son of God, quickened by His death, for the light of resurrection has risen upon you.

Open to them, O Lord, now the whole abyss of Your perfections.

You shone upon them with the light of the sun and the moon, so that they might see the glory of the radiant faces of the angels.

You have delighted me with the splendor of the east and west of the heavenly lights, so that they may also see the eternal light of Your Divinity.

Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 12

Flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of God as long as we live in the flesh and are separated from Christ. Even though we die, we will live for eternity. It is fitting for our corruptible body to clothe itself with incorruption and to shine forth with immortality. so that in the light of the unevening day it will be sung: Alleluia.

Ikos 12

Tea of meeting with the Lord, tea of the clear dawn of the resurrection, tea of awakening from the graves of our relatives and known ones and revival in the most reverent beauty of the life of the dead. And we celebrate the coming transformation of all creation and cry out to our Creator:

Lord, having created the world for the triumph of joy and kindness, raising us to holiness from the depths of sin, let the dead reign in the midst of a new existence, so that they may shine like lights in heaven on the day of their glory.

May the Divine Lamb be their eternal light. Grant, Lord, that we too may celebrate Easter incorruption with them. Unite the dead and the living in endless joy. Lord, Ineffable Love, remember Your departed servants.

Kontakion 13

Oh, Most Merciful Father Without Beginning, I wish everyone to be saved. Send down the Son to the lost and pour out the Life-giving Spirit! Have mercy, forgive and save our dear ones and those close to us who have died and all those who have died from time immemorial and through their intercession, visit us, and together with them we cry out to You, the Savior God, a victorious song: Alleluia.

This Kontakion is spoken three times. And according to this, Ikos 1 and Kontakion 1 are read.

Prayer for the repose of the deceased

Rest, O Lord, to the soul of Thy fallen servant (Thy fallen servant, the soul of Thy fallen servant) ( namename) (bow), and as much as man has sinned in this life (humans have sinned), You, as a Lover of Mankind, forgive him (them) and have mercy ( bow), deliver eternal torment ( bow), make a partaker (participant, partakers) of the heavenly Kingdom ( bow), and do something useful for our souls ( bow).

PRAYER

Rest in peace, O Lord, the souls of Your departed servants: Your most holy patriarchs, most Reverend metropolitans, archbishops and bishops, who served You in the priesthood, church and monastic ranks; the creators of this holy temple, the Orthodox forefathers, fathers, brothers and sisters, lying here and everywhere; leaders and warriors who laid down their lives for faith and fatherland; the faithful, killed in internecine warfare, drowned, burned, frozen to death, torn to pieces by beasts, suddenly died without repentance and did not have time to reconcile with their enemies; those for whom they commanded and asked us to pray, for whom there is no one to pray, and the faithful, deprived of Christian burial - in a brighter place, in a greener place, in a place of peace, from where sickness, sadness and sighing have escaped. And, as you are good and a lover of mankind, forgive all their voluntary and involuntary sins and deliver them eternal torment, as there is no man who will live and not sin, but You are the only one besides sin, Your truth is truth forever, and You are the only God mercy and generosity and love for mankind, and we send glory to You, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord rest the soul of Your servant Lyudmila, forgive her everything
sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant her the Kingdom of Heaven!

Prayer of St. Leo of Optina for a parent who died without repentance

Seek, O Lord, the lost soul of my father (my mother), if possible, have mercy! Your destinies are unsearchable. Do not make this my prayer a sin for me. But Thy holy will be done.

Prayer that God would grant us zeal for prayer for the departed and would accept it

Most merciful and all-merciful Lord, Lord and Judge of the living and the dead, our God, wondrous and inscrutable in His destinies! You see the sorrows, sorrows and illnesses that overwhelm us, and you hear our sighs, and listen to our voice. How then, in our many sorrows, will our souls find consolation and peace, if not through Your prosperity, O Omnipotent Savior? For You are our God, and don’t we know otherwise to You? Accept, O Lord who loves mankind, our prayer, which we offer to You with all our hearts and with all our soul. Weigh, Lord, that we are not pleased with the prayer worthy of bringing to You; but the All-Good One Himself, teach us how it is proper to pray to Ty. Warm our hearts with the warmth of Your Holy Spirit, so that our prayer will not be in vain for the souls of Your servants who have departed from us, and grant us to dare to call upon You, Heavenly God the Father, with boldness and without condemnation, for You are our hope and refuge; We fall before You, our God worshiped and glorified in the Trinity, and to You alone we offer our prayer in our sorrows and illnesses, in joy and sorrow, for You are our consolation, our joy, our treasure and the Giver of our life: from You all things come every deed is good and every gift is perfect. For this reason, we dare to cry out to You with our mortal lips: hear us, O God, hear us sinners praying to You; incline Your ear to our prayer and let our cry come to You. Accept, Most Blessed Lord, our prayer for the souls of Your departed servants, like a fragrant incense offered to You. Drive away from us all evil thoughts; create in us, O God, a pure heart and a contrite spirit; instill in us, O God, the root of good things - Thy fear in our hearts; see our tears, see our lamentation; behold our sorrows, behold those who weep bitterly for Thy servant (name) who has come to You, and rest him in Thy Kingdom, for Thou art the Life, Resurrection and Rest of Thy servants who have fallen asleep, and we send glory to You, as to the Beginning Father with Thy Only Begotten Son and the All-Holy and By Your good and life-giving Spirit always, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer to the Guardian Angel

Holy Guardian Angel, given to the deceased servant of God (servant of God) (name)! Do not cease to protect his (her) soul from these evil and terrible demons; be her nurturer and comforter there, in that invisible world of spirits; take me under your wing and lead me without restraint through the gates of the airy tormentors; appear as an intercessor and prayer book for her with God - pray to Him the Most Good, that she may not be brought down to a place of darkness, but may he restore her, where the non-evening Light abides.

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Holy Lady Theotokos! We resort to You, our Intercessor: You are a quick helper, our never-ending intercessor with God! Most of all, we pray to Thee at this hour: help Thy newly departed servant (Thy servant) (name) to cross this terrible and unknown path; We pray to Thee, Lady of the world, by Thy power to drive away from his (her) fear-driven soul the terrible powers of dark spirits, so that they may be confused and put to shame before Thee; free the air tax collectors from torture, destroy their councils and overthrow them as malicious enemies. Be her, O All-Merciful Lady Theotokos, an intercessor and protector from the airy prince of darkness, the tormentor and the terrible paths of the champion; We pray to You, Most Holy Theotokos, through Your honest protection, so that He may pass from earth to heaven without fear and without restraint. We pray to Thee, our Intercessor, intercede for Thy servant (Thy servant) with Thy motherhood before the Lord with boldness; We pray to You, our Help, help him (her), who has to be judged even before the Last Judgment Seat, help him to be justified before God, as the Creator of heaven and earth, and implore Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, may he rest the deceased in the bosom of Abraham with the righteous and all the saints. Amen.

Prayer for all deceased Orthodox Christians in the faith

First prayer

Master, Most Merciful and All-Merciful Lord Jesus Christ our God! You are merciful to us sinners and Your mercy has no end: since you did not want our eternal destruction, you declared in advance: “I do not want the death of a sinner, but the hedgehog will turn and live for him.” Glory to Your mercy! Glory to Your looking! Glory to Your long-suffering, O Lord! With all our hearts, with all our souls, we thank Thee, our God, for Thou hast vouchsafed Thy deceased servant (Thy servant) (name) to confess his sins to Thee on his sick bed. But You, Lord, are the only One who knows everything, weigh, since his (her) sins are severe, but we pray to You, accept Your servant (Your servant), who has gone to You even if he was a sinner, but not unrepentant (oh), and reward him (her) according to his (her) repentant heart. And just as You accept a single word, and a single sigh, and a single drop of tears from someone confessing to You with a pure and contrite heart, we therefore pray to You, Holy One of the Heart, now accept from us our prayer for the deceased, listen to our prayers in the voice , and we are heard; With a tender soul and a contrite heart, we pray to You, Lord, look with Your all-merciful eye on Your deceased servant (Your servant) (name) who repented to You and fell with the immaterial fire of Your Holy Spirit all the thorns of his (her) sins. unconfessed before Your face. If Your deceased servant (Your servant) in repentance falls into oblivion because of the weakness of nature, or a serious illness, or fear for the sake of the hour of death, it is not possible for him to repent before You in contrition and tenderness of heart, O Lord, then I will be able to bring You fruits worthy repentance, we ask with tenderness, we pray to Thee, our Savior, fill his (her) repentance with the prayers of Thy Holy Church and all Thy saints who have pleased Thee from the ages, most of all, fill this spiritual poverty with Thy goodness, Thy dearest redemptive and saving merits; and just as you justified the publican, and you had mercy on the thief who prayed to You on the cross, we hereby pray to You: have mercy on the one who has come to You with faith and hope and forgive him (her) every sin, voluntary and involuntary, in word, deed, knowledge and what was done through ignorance, and likewise will appear before Thy face without condemnation on the day of Thy Great and Terrible Judgment. We pray to Thee, our dearest Redeemer, to grant Thy deceased servant (Thy servant) (name) to enter Thy Kingdom, as one who, by Thy goodness, has been made worthy to partake of Thy holy, terrible and life-giving Mysteries for the remission of sins and for life eternal. You, Lord, with your most pure lips declared: “Whoever eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood will have eternal life.” You, Lord, You Yourself have granted Your deceased servant (Your servant) to partake of Your most pure Body and Your most pure Blood, as a guarantee of eternal bliss; For this reason we again pray to Thee: may Thy holy and life-giving Mysteries be to him (her), like a coal, burning up all his (her) sins, all his (her) iniquities and unrighteousness, may they be for cleansing, sanctification, justification and remission of sins , and as a guarantee of life and eternal bliss. Amen.

Second prayer

God of generosity and all grace! Look down from the heights of Thy Holy Dwelling upon us, sinners and unworthy Thy servants, praying to You and asking for the remission of debts to Thy deceased servant (s). We pray to Thee, Eternal Goodness, do not enter into judgment with Thy servant (s), as the creation of Thy Wisdom, but rather grant him (s) mercy; Show him (her) Thy compassion, O All-Good Master, and do not turn him (it) away from Thy presence, O Lord of mankind: save his (her) soul from eternal death, which is the second death, so that the deceased may not cease glorify Your infinite goodness and exalt Your name forever. You, the Knower of the Heart, know the deeds, intentions and thoughts of Your deceased servant (Your servant) and all the good and evil things he (she) has done are naked and declared before You. But what is all our goodness before You, Holy One? Like a drop in the sea, so is before You and before Your righteousness and Holiness all our good things done in this world. Our sins are immeasurable; Great and heavy is the burden of our sins, but inexpressibly great and boundless are the merits of Your Only Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Whom You gave to us sinners out of Your boundless love, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. We are great sinners before You and unworthy of Your mercy, but Your love for mankind makes us worthy; Our iniquities are great, but Your mercy is inexhaustible: the immeasurable merits of Your Beloved Son, who offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins, conquer all sin, all lawlessness; For this reason, with tenderness and with boldness we pray to Thee, the Source of our life, with boldness of hope we pray that Thy deceased servant (Thy servant) (name) may assimilate these precious redemptive and saving merits of Thy Only Begotten Son; We beg Your mercy with tears of contrition, cover the sins of Your departed servant (Thy servant) with the greatness of these dearest merits of our Redeemer; forgive all his (her) sins and do not destroy him (her) with his (her) iniquities in fiery hell. Spare, have mercy, Master, Thy servant (Thy servant) (name) who has gone to You and deliver him from eternal torment, deliver him for the sake of the immeasurable and unspeakable spiritual sorrows and illnesses of Your Only Begotten Son, suffered by Him before drinking the bitter cup of His suffering; spare him (s) and save him from eternal death for the sake of reproach and beating of our Savior, for the sake of strangulation and spitting; have mercy for the sake of His dearest Blood, which was shed from His most pure ribs. We pray to Thee, Father of generosity and all mercy, with His most pure and life-giving wounds, His holy Blood, heal the deadly and sinful ulcers of Thy deceased servant (Thy servant), and thus may he be healed spiritually and may he be honored in Thy unapproachable light, Light-Giver Lord , glorify and glorify Your Most Holy Name forever. Amen.

Prayer three

Lord, Lord! How inevitable, how terrible is Thy impartial and unchangeably eternal Judgment! In great and trembling confusion, our spirit is troubled, our heart trembles and melts away, like wax, from the single announcement of Your immutable verb about the last Judgment; the tongue is silent from the single expectation of the voice of the last trumpet of the Archangel, which has the power to awaken from the dead and call from the living to Your Last Judgment from the east and west, from the north and south. Oh, that day is truly terrible, on which you will come, O God, to earth in glory with the Angels and all the saints! Then everything above and below will appear with fear and trembling, and the hordes of the underworld will tremble before You, Judge of this world; call heaven and earth to Judgment, to judge the universe in righteousness and truth! That day is terrible, in which thrones will be set up, books will be opened, and our open and secret deeds, words and thoughts will be exposed before You, before Angels and men, and together they will be condemned: for nothing, Lord, is hidden with You, and then it will not be revealed, and secretly, so that no one will know. Who will be able, Judge of this world, to stand before Your face and the whole world above and below! Even if the righteous man barely escapes, how will the wicked and sinful stand? And who will stand up for us, if not Your mercy, Lord? Where shall we flee from Thy righteous Judgment? Oh, have mercy, have mercy then on us and on Thy servant (Thy servant) (name) who has gone to You and is always remembered by us, and do not then condemn him (her) to eternal torment because of his (her) sin. Deign then, O Most Merciful Lord, to accept into Thy heavenly and mental altar our sacrifices for him (nu) - our prayers and alms, like a fragrant censer, coupled with the prayers and bloodless priesthood of the shepherds of Thy Holy Church, that Thy Holy Church may not be ashamed before Thee, before the Angels and the whole world is your departed servant (thy servant). Hear us, our God, and do not completely reject us; see those who kneel and prostrate themselves before You, O Lord; hear those asking Your mercy and the Kingdom of Heaven for Your departed servant(s). We pray to You, O Most Merciful and Most Generous Jesus, when You come with Your Holy Angels to judge the world, have mercy, then, O Savior, have mercy on Your creation: for the image is of Your ineffable glory. With a contrite heart, we pray, we ask Thee, our Savior and Redeemer, do not condemn Thy servant (Thy servant) (name) by Thy righteous judgment to eternal torment, even if he is worthy of all condemnation and torment; do not separate him (s) from the flock of Thy chosen ones, but, according to Thy ineffable mercy, long-suffering and love for us sinners and unworthy servants of Thy, for the sake of Thy dearest merits, grant him (s) worthy, O Lord, of Thy Kingdom, which Thou hast prepared for those who love Thee from the foundation of the world, and let him enter into the place of rest, praising Your all-holy and magnificent Name, glorifying Your ineffable mercy, magnifying Your love for mankind and Your generosity, for You are the God of mercy and generosity, and we send glory to You, with Your beginningless Father, the Most Holy and Good and By Your life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer for everyone who has died

Remember, O Lord our God, in the faith and hope of the life of Thy eternally departed servant, our brother (name), as Good and Lover of mankind, forgiving sins and consuming untruths, weaken, forsake and forgive all his voluntary and involuntary sins, deliver him from eternal torment and the fire of Gehenna, and grant him the communion and enjoyment of Your eternal good things, prepared for those who love You: even if you sin, do not depart from You, and undoubtedly in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, You are glorified God in the Trinity, faith, and the Unity in the Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is Orthodox even until his last breath of confession. Be merciful to him, and have faith in You instead of deeds, and rest with Your saints as You are Generous: for there is no man who will live and not sin. But You are the One besides all sin, and Your truth is the truth forever, and You are the One God of mercies and generosity, and love for mankind, and to You we send glory, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer for benefactors, especially those who led to virtue

Lord Jesus Christ our God! You commanded us to give everyone their due, when you said: “Whatever you want, let men do to you, and you do likewise to them.” What shall I do, O Lord, what shall I repay now, to Thy servant (thy servant) who has done great good to me, but who has already departed from the land of the living! With You, Lord, with You, our God rich in mercy, is all reward. For this reason, I pray to Thee, the Giver of good things, accept from me this little prayer of mine, together with thanksgiving for all Thy good deeds bestowed upon me in the ever-remembered memory of Thy (Thy) deceased servant. I pray to Thee, O God, to my Savior, look down from the height of Thy Holy Dwelling on my prayer and remember by Thy mercy Thy servant (Thy servant) (name), who has done such good to me, who has gone to You; Show him (her) the power of Thy goodness and Thy ineffable mercy in the forgiveness and forgiveness of sins and cover him (it) with Thy justification; Grant him, O Lord, the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal peace, as he who helped me and my neighbors in need and hardship, in sorrow and illness, and who gave me good from the abundance of Your gifts. I pray to You, Eternal Goodness, reward him (her) for his (her) good deeds a hundredfold - for earthly blessings with heavenly ones, for temporary ones with eternal ones, and grant him (her) eternal peace; and as he who taught me the works of mercy, meekness, humility, patience, abstinence, who instilled in me the spirit of peace and Christian love, who gave me good advice and good images of Christian life, grant, O Most Merciful Lord , it is worthy to behold the non-evening light of Your Kingdom and to satisfy it with Your heavenly table, as in Your name you nourished my thirsty and hungering soul. Remember, Lord, and all those who have gone to You, who labored in faith and virtuous life for the glory of Your Most Holy Name, who did good to the orphans, the poor and the needy; rest in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, who visited the sick, the suffering and those imprisoned; receive into Your palace those who have welcomed strangers and strangers into Your house. Remember, Lord, in Your Kingdom your departed servants, who stood before You and prayed with warm prayer for our spiritual salvation and prosperity, for the preservation and well-being of Your holy churches, for the peace and salvation of the whole world; rest with Thy saints Thy servants, who prayed for the conversion to You of those who were lost and fallen from the faith and for the salvation of those perishing in sins. I pray to Thee, Christ our God, I pray to Thee, as the Judge who hast to judge the world, reward them according to Thy love for mankind, and make them worthy to hear that longed-for voice: “Bring, blessed of My Father, and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world,” and yes They will enter into it, praising and glorifying Your magnificent name to endless ages. Amen.

Prayer for the pastors of the Orthodox Church

Lord Jesus Christ our God, who has given us apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers for the perfection of the Saints, for the work of service, for the building up of Your Body! We pray to Thee, O Most Merciful Master, hear our prayerful voice and remember in Thy Kingdom those Thy servants who have passed from this earthly world to the heavenly world: Orthodox Patriarchs, metropolitans (names), archbishops and bishops (names), archimandrites, abbots, hieromonks, priests (names) ), hierodeacons and deacons (names); place them, O Lord, in the heavenly shelters of eternal rest, as having served for the glory of Thy Most Holy Name and for the glory of Thy Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, for the edification and salvation of Her children; Remember everyone in the monastic rank and church clergy who served You. We pray to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ our God, we pray as the Chief Shepherd, by Thy mercy accept the souls of Thy departed servants, as chosen servants and builders of Thy Mysteries, who stood before Thy terrible throne, performed bloodless sacred rites and gave us Thy Holy and Life-giving Gifts - Thy Honest Body and Your honorable Blood, for the remission of sins and eternal life; For this reason, we pray to Thee, our God, to make them also partakers of the gracious gifts of Thy Holy Spirit in Thy Kingdom. God! Thou hast given them the power in Thy name to forgive and forgive us our sins, to bind and resolve, we diligently pray to Thee: forgive, forgive them their sins and do not remember their sins; save and have mercy on them according to Your great mercy; look upon them with Thy mercy and accept them, O Christ, under Thy compassion, as Thou hast taught us to guard everything that Thou hast commanded us; rest with the saints in Thy house, as stewards who humbly labored in planting and strengthening the Orthodox Faith and piety in our hearts; make them worthy to appear before You at Your judgment, without condemnation, as before the Chief Shepherd, and place them in Your heavenly hillside, like an olive planting. Bring them, Light-Giver Lord, to the unevening light of Your Kingdom, as if you enlightened us with the light of the Gospel, instill them in Your Holy City, as if you instilled in us the spirit of wisdom and reason, the spirit of advice and strength, the spirit of knowledge and piety, the spirit of Your fear - and grant them to enjoy the fatness of Thy house, as they nourished and enjoyed our souls from Thy divine Table. We pray to Thee, the King, with the prayers of the apostles and prophets, saints and teachers and all the saints, glorify them as servants of the word in Thy Holy Church, militant on earth, glorify them in the Church triumphant in Heaven, and number them with the face of Thy holy apostles, saints and teachers of the Church who served and pleased You in word and deed. Amen.

Prayer for mentors and educators

God of reason, God of miracles, living, ever-flowing Source of wisdom! I pray to You, remember in Your Kingdom the souls of Your departed servants, my mentors (names), who enlightened my mind and instilled in my heart the spirit of wisdom and reason, the spirit of advice and strength, the spirit of knowledge and truth, truth and virtue. I pray to You, Master, be merciful about their sins; weaken, forgive and forgive them all the sins they have committed in this life, in word, deed, thought, knowledge and ignorance. Reward them, the Giver of light, with Thy mercy, with Thy bounties for all their care for our spiritual success; Show them the mercy of Thy mercy for their good teachings, for their beneficial advice and admonitions, which I sowed and planted in our minds and hearts, like good seeds; reward them for all their good with Your heavenly and eternal blessings, so that they may see in You, O God, face to face the eternal Truth and may they be illuminated and enjoy Her tri-radiant Light for endless ages in Your Kingdom. Amen.

Prayer for those who have offended and hated us

Master, Lover of Mankind, Jesus Christ, Son of God! You, out of Your inexpressible love for us, Your sinful and unworthy servants, make Your sun shine on the evil and the good, bring rain on the righteous and the unrighteous; You, the Most Good, command us to love our enemies, to do good to those who hate and offend us, to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who attack us and drive us out. You, our Savior, hanging on the tree of the cross, You Yourself forgave Your enemies who cursed You blasphemously, and prayed for Your tormentors; You have given us an image, so that we may follow Your footsteps. You, O dearest Redeemer, who taught us to forgive our enemies, commanded us to pray together for them; I pray to You, Jesus the Most Generous, Son and Lamb of God, take away the sins of the world, forgive your servant (your servant) (name) who has gone to You and accept him (s) not as my enemy, who has done evil to me, but as the one who has sinned before You, I pray to You, infinite in mercy, O Lord our God, accept in peace, who has come to You from this world without reconciliation with me; save and have mercy on him, O God, with Your great and rich mercy. Lord, Lord! Let not Thy wrath, nor Thy wrath, punish Thy servant (Thy servant), who has caused me to attack, insult, reproach and slander; I pray to You, do not remember these sins of him (her), but let go and forgive him (her) all this according to Your love for mankind, and have mercy according to Your great mercy. I pray to Thee, O Most Good and Most Generous Jesus, as the Solver of the bonds of hell, the Victor of death, the Savior of sinners, allow Thy servant (Thy servant) these sins, in the image of the deceased who are bound as captives of hell. You, Lord, declared: “If you do not forgive men their sins, neither will your Heavenly Father forgive you your sins”; oh, let this not happen! With tenderness and contrition of heart, I beg You, O Most Merciful Savior, to release him (her) from these bonds of evil obsessions and the wiles of the devil, do not destroy the deceased with Your wrath, but open to him (her), Giver of Life, the doors of Your mercy, so that he may enter into Thy holy city, praising Thy all-holy and magnificent Name and singing the ineffable love of Thy Holy Spirit for perishing sinners. And just as You, Eternal Goodness, remembered on the cross the prudent thief who was crucified with You, making it possible for him to enter paradise, I pray to You, O All-Bountiful One, remember in Your Kingdom also Your servant (Thy servant) who has gone to You ( name) do not close, but open also to him (her) the doors of Thy mercy, for Thine is to have mercy and save us, O our God, and to Thee we send glory with Thy Beginning Father, Thy Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for those who died outside their Fatherland, for the rootless and wretched

Lord Jesus Christ our God, Protector of the orphans, Guide of the strange, Pilot of the floating, shelter of the stormy, traveling with the traveling, comfort of the weeping, feeder of the poor! We pray to Thee, O most merciful Lord, remember in Thy Kingdom the souls of Thy departed servants (names), who reposed in the faith to Thee, but departed to foreign lands, without the motherly guidance and blessing of Thy Holy Church. Receive, Master, under Your compassion the slaves who passed away there in grief and sorrow for their relatives and neighbors, where no one consoled them in the terrible hour of death, where no one offered You a warm prayer for their gracious passage from this temporary life into the heavenly world. Therefore, we pray to Thee, Most Good One, we pray to Thee, O omnipresent and ever-present Lord, look upon these Thy servants with Thy mercy, forgive them every sin, voluntary and involuntary, committed in word and deed, and everything, even in knowledge and ignorance. We beg You with the prayers and intercession of Your Mother, Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos, and all the saints, do not destroy those who have gone to You with their iniquity, but do them Your great mercy, show them Your love for mankind and Your generosity, lead them to Your quiet refuge and establish them in Your House.
We also pray for the repose of the souls of the departed Thy servants (the souls of Thy departed servant (Thy servants) (names), who went to Thee rootless and have no prayer books for themselves from their relatives, except for Thy Holy Church; for this reason we pray to Thee, Lord, accept our prayer for these too: forgive them all their sins and have mercy on them according to Your great mercy; let them dwell in Your Holy dwelling, so that they may find peace in You, as in the Savior and Redeemer of the human race.
God! God! Even if Your departed servants, who were in poverty and misery, for a cup of cold water, for a piece of bread, for a single mite given to them in Your name, brought You prayers for us, petitions and thanksgivings; Even the orphans blessed the hand that did good to them, praying for the sending down of Thy blessings to us, for this sake we pray to Thee now, Christ our God, and we for them: remember in Thy Kingdom these, as the least, according to Thy brethren; forgive them every sin, voluntary or involuntary, cover them with Your compassion and place them in Your Holy palace; and as those who received food here on earth through the invocation of Your holy name, feed there in heaven from the fatness of Your house and may they be comforted and may all who truly mourned to You enjoy endless joy; place them with Thy saints, so that all things may be purchased by You, Judge of the living and the dead, and may they form a host of Thy chosen ones, and thus may they glorify, praise and extol Your boundless mercy to boundless ages. Amen.

Prayer for those who have died due to mental illness

Wonderful are Your works, O Lord, and there is no end to the greatness of Your mind! How, through varied and unsearchable paths, do You lead Your people in this world from the world below to the world above! You destroy the wisdom of the wise, you reject the wisdom of the wise, you waste and humble the high and proud, you overthrow and disgrace the strong and noble; You choose the wild and humble, the humble, the weak and the weak, elevate, strengthen and glorify, revealing the wise and good advice of Your providential vision to infants and hiding them from those who imagine themselves to be perfect in their minds. Who is pleased to understand all Your destiny, O God, in the image, according to the richness of Your goodness and long-suffering, admonishing, teaching and saving us sinners and unworthy Thy servants? You apply intelligence to the other and bestow sound judgment, but you take possession of the other, tear away the stony heart from the other and invest it with flesh; You bestow upon him physical strength and vigor, as well as spiritual courage; You allow others to be sick in soul and body; You make him glad, but you want to make him sad; You live, and you die. Oh, great and inscrutable in the secrets of His consideration for us, Lord our God! I confess with all my heart before You, as with the deceased (-neck) of Thy servant (Thy servant) (name), who has died (my) ever-remembered, it was not without Your wise and good will and vision that a crushing illness of the soul, and its true guilt, occurred and all the power of You alone knows exactly the essence: I also reverently submit before Your, O Lord, indescribable, but I will take out saving destinies, with tenderness I cry out to You: incline Your ear to my prayer and listen to my love for mankind, and soon hear my prayer for this Thy servant ( Yours). I am perplexed and greatly grieve over the extraordinary fate of him (her), who, not like other people with sense, self-awareness and firmness in memory, has come to You from us, but as if he is deprived of his mind, perverted in meaning, painfully saddened ( -on) with the heart, not having the self-controlling power of your will, appearing frantically and ferociously in your actions. God! God! What is this incomprehensible phenomenon in the spiritual life of mankind? How does one created in Your image and likeness fall into extreme foolishness, go mad, go berserk, and do inappropriate things? What then is this with the breath of Thy life, O God Almighty? Truly, according to Your, O Lord, unsearchable paths and ineffable advice, all of this is arranged wisely and with good intentions by You: inflict it, as if it were a temporary punishment, and allow a great deal of disorder and transformation in the wonderful composition of our being, so that by the hidden ways of You you will arrange, restore and correct all obstinate and corrupted things that have been created by unreasonable, evil and crafty custom, and such visible evil in people, in You, All-Good Master, ever-flowing Source of Wisdom and Reason, in You they turn into good. For this sake, humbly falling to Thy inexhaustible bounties, our Humane-loving Savior, I pray to Thee, Giver of good things, accept Thy deceased servant (Thy servant) (name), as he was so ill and suffered in in this life, accept by Thy mercy, and do not add, O Good One, even there, in the country of our brothers who have departed from us, the pain and suffering of him (her), which are immeasurably more cruel than here on earth; but turn away from him (her) the rebuke of Your anger and look at him (her) with the bright eye of Your mercy; but do not let the cruel ones perish forever, for He Himself, the Most Merciful Savior, who does not want the death of a sinner, who does not want anyone to perish, Sweetest Jesus Christ, the Son of God, heal those who are incurably ill in body, cleanse lepers and make the demons understanding! I pray to You, Lord, heal the soul of Your deceased servant (Your servant) (name), cleanse him (her) from all voluntary and involuntary, known and unknown sins and sins of him (her), cleanse Himself, Savior, since he was not able to rationally and in sound memory confess them to You, for this sake, have mercy on him (her), Lord, and take from him (her) all the heavy burden of sins. Take away the sins of the world! Cover and justify him (s) with Your grace, and, in his image, weigh his destinies. Save Thy servant (s) from Thy chosen ones, but make it worthy to be a fellow member (s) of heavenly faces, like Thy wretched servant (Thy servant), who was excommunicated here on earth (- y) and alienated from one’s own name from one’s relatives, friends and neighbors, and do not deprive him of Thy Heavenly Kingdom, as one is deprived of seeing Thy goodness here on earth and left to drag out one’s days in the performance of bitterly lamentable deeds : For this sake, I pray to Thee, Lord, rest him (s) with Thy saints in the House of Thy Father, with Him, together with Thy Most Holy Spirit, we send glory to Thee, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer for the repose of those who have died after a serious and long illness

Lord, Lord! You are righteous, and Your judgment is righteous: You, in Your eternal Wisdom, have set the limit of our life, which no one will pass. Wise are Your laws, unsearchable are Your ways! You command the angel of death to remove from the body the soul of a baby and an old man, a husband and a young man, a healthy and a sick person, according to Your unspeakable and unknown to us destinies; but we believe that this is Your holy will, beforehand, according to the judgment of Your righteousness, You, Most Good Lord, as the all-wise and omnipotent and omniscient Physician of our souls and bodies, send illnesses and ailments, troubles and misadventures to man, as spiritual healing. You strike him and heal him, you put to death what is dead in him and give life to the immortal, and, like a loving Father, you punish him even if you accept him: we pray to You, O Lord who loves mankind, accept Your servant (Your servant) (name) who has come to You, whom You have sought Thou art, by Thy love for mankind, who punished with grave bodily illness, in order to save the soul from mortal illness; and if all this has been received from You with humility, patience and love for You, as the all-powerful Physician of our souls and bodies, show him (her) this day Your rich mercy, as he who has endured all this sin of his for the sake of. Impute to him (her), Lord, this temporary serious illness as some kind of punishment for the sins committed in this vale of tears, and heal his (her) soul from sinful ailments. Have mercy, Lord, have mercy on the one you have sought, and, punished temporarily, I pray to You, do not punish him with the deprivation of Your eternal heavenly blessings, but grant him (s) the right to enjoy them in Your Kingdom. If the deceased Thy servant (Thy servant), without reasoning within himself, for the sake of this was the touch of Thy healing and providential Hand, obstinately speaking to himself, or, out of his unreasonableness, grumbling in his heart, like this burden consider yourself unbearable, or, due to the weakness of your nature, suffering from a long illness and upset by a misfortune, we pray to You, Long-suffering and Much-Merciful Lord, forgive him (her) this sin according to Your boundless mercy and Your unconditional mercy towards us sinners and unworthy Thy servants, forgive for the sake of Your love for the human race; If his (her) iniquity exceeds his (her) head, but illness and illness do not move him (her) to full and sincere repentance, we beg You, the Author of our life, we beg You with Your redemptive merits, have mercy and save, Savior, slave Thine (Thy servant) from eternal death. Lord God, our Savior! You, by faith in You, granted forgiveness and remission of sins, granting pardon and healing to a weakened thirty-year-old man, when you said: “Your sins are felt by you”; With this faith and hope in Your goodness, we resort to Your, O Most Generous Jesus, ineffable mercy and in the tenderness of our hearts we pray to You, Lord: for now and today, this is the word of pardon, the word of remission of sins to the deceased, to the ever-remembered (- my) by us to Thy servant (Thy servant) (name), may he be healed spiritually, and may he dwell in a place of light, in a place of peace, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, and may his (her) illnesses and ailments be replaced there, tears of suffering and sorrow into a source of joy about the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for the repose of Orthodox soldiers killed in battle for the faith and Fatherland

Invincible, incomprehensible and strong in battle, Lord our God! You, according to Your inscrutable destinies, send the Angel of Death to another under his roof, to another in the village, to another on the sea, to another on the battlefield from the weapons of war, spewing out terrible and deadly forces, destroying the bodies, tearing apart the limbs and crushing the bones of the warriors; We believe that according to Your, Lord, wise vision, such death is accepted by the defenders of the faith and the Fatherland.
We pray to Thee, Most Blessed Lord, remember in Thy Kingdom the Orthodox soldiers who were killed in battle, and receive them into Thy heavenly palace, as wounded martyrs, stained with their own blood, as if they suffered for Thy Holy Church and for the Fatherland, which Thou hast blessed, as Thy heritage . We pray to Thee, accept the warriors who have gone to You into the hosts of the hosts of the Heavenly Forces, accept them by Thy mercy, as those who fell in battle for the independence of the Russian land from the yoke of the infidels, as if they defended the Orthodox faith from enemies, who defended the Fatherland in difficult times from foreign hordes; Remember, Lord, and all those who fought a good deed for the ancient preserved Apostolic Orthodoxy, for the Russian land that You have chosen, sanctified and holy in its language, and the enemies of the Cross and Orthodoxy offered both fire and sword. Receive in peace of soul your servants (names), who fought for our prosperity, for our peace and tranquility, and grant them eternal rest, as they saved cities and towns and defended the Fatherland with themselves, and have mercy on the Orthodox soldiers who fell in battle with your mercy, forgive them everything sins committed in this life in word, deed, knowledge and ignorance. Look with Your mercy, O Most Merciful Lord, on their wounds, torment, groaning and suffering, and impute to them all this as a good deed and pleasing to You; accept them by Thy mercy, having endured fierce sorrow and hardship here, in need, cramped conditions, in labor and vigil, there was hunger and thirst, you endured exhaustion and exhaustion, you were considered like sheep of the slaughter. We pray to Thee, Lord, that their wounds will be medicine and oil poured out on their sinful sores. Look down from heaven, O God, and see the tears of the orphans who have lost their fathers, and accept the tender prayers of their sons and daughters for them; hear the prayerful sighs of fathers and mothers who have lost their children; hear, O most gracious Lord, the inconsolable widows who have lost their spouses; brothers and sisters crying for their relatives - and remember the men who were killed in the strength of their strength and in the prime of their years, the elders, in the strength of spirit and courage; look at our heartfelt sorrows, see our lamentation and have mercy, O Most Good One, towards those who pray to You, Lord! Thou hast taken away our dear ones from us, but do not deprive us of Thy mercy: hear our prayer and accept Thy servants (names) who have mercifully gone to Thee. call them to Your palace, like valiant warriors who laid down their lives for faith and the Fatherland on the battlefields; accept them into the host of Your chosen ones, as those who served You with faith and righteousness, and rest them in Your Kingdom, like the martyrs who went to You wounded, ulcerated and betraying their spirit in terrible torment; brought into Your holy city all Your servants (names) who are ever remembered by us, like valiant warriors who fought courageously in the terrible battles of which we remember them; their garments there are in fine linen, bright and clean, as here they have whitened their vestments in their blood, and are worthy of the crowns of martyrdom; make them collectively participants in the triumph and glory of the victors who fought under the banner of Your Cross with the world, flesh and the devil; place them in the host of glorious passion-bearers, good-victorious martyrs, the righteous and all Your saints. Amen.

Prayer for those who have died due to sudden (sudden) death

First prayer

Inscrutable are Your destinies, Lord! Thy ways are unsearchable! Give breath to every creature and bring everything from those that do not exist into being, You send the Angel of death to him on a Day he does not know, and at an hour he does not expect; You snatch him from the hand of death, granting him life with his last breath; Be long-suffering to the new one and give him time for repentance; You cut it like a grain with the sword of death in one hour, in the twinkling of an eye; You strike him with thunder and lightning, you burn him with flame, and you betray him as food for wild beasts; You command them to be swallowed up by the waves and abysses of the sea and the abysses of the earth; You kidnap them with a destructive ulcer, where death, like a reaper, reaps and separates father or mother from their children, brother from brother, husband from wife, tears the baby from the mother’s womb, casts lifeless the mighty of the earth, the rich and the poor. What the hell is this? Your look is wondrous and perplexing to us, O God! But Lord, Lord! You are only One, knowing everything, weighing why this happens and why it should be, as if Your servant (Your servant) (name) was consumed in the blink of an eye by the gap of death. If you are punishing him (her) for his (her) many, grave sins, we pray to You, O many-merciful and all-merciful Lord, not with Your wrath do you reprove him (her) and punish him completely, but, according to Your goodness and according to Your unconditional mercy, show him (her) great Your mercy is in the forgiveness and forgiveness of sins. What if your deceased servant (thy servant), in this life thinking about the Day of Judgment, recognized his own repentance and desired to bring you fruits worthy of repentance, but not having achieved this, was called by you to be on the day of his not knowing, and at an hour for which I was not expecting, for this sake we pray to Thee, Most Gracious and Most Merciful Lord, to correct, arrange, complete the unfinished work of saving him (her), the unfinished repentance, which Thy eyes have seen, with Thy ineffable goodness and love for mankind; The imams have only one hope in Your endless mercy: You have judgment and punishment, You have truth and inexhaustible mercy; You punish, but at the same time you are merciful; beeshi, and at the same time you are acceptable; We diligently pray to Thee, O Lord our God, do not punish the one suddenly called to You with Thy Last Judgment, but have mercy, have mercy on him (them) and do not cast him away from Thy presence. Oh, it is terrible to suddenly fall into Thy hands, O Lord, and to appear before Thy impartial judgment! It is terrible to come to You without gracious guidance, without Repentance and communion of Your Holy, terrible and life-giving Mysteries, Lord! If Thy servant (Thy servant) who has suddenly died and is remembered by us is so much a sinner, so much guilty of condemnation at Your righteous court, we pray to You, have mercy on him (her), not condemn him (s) to eternal torment, to eternal death; Be patient with us, give us the length of our days, so that we may pray to You all our days for Your departed servant(s), until you hear us and accept by Your mercy the one who suddenly departed to You; and grant us, Master, to wash away his (her) sins with tears of contrition and our sighs before You, so that Your servant (Your servant) (name) may not be brought down by his sin to a place of torment (name), but may he dwell in a place of rest . You Yourself, Lord, command to strike at the door of Your mercy, we pray to You, O Most Generous King, and we will not cease to beg Your mercy and cry out with the repentant David: have mercy, have mercy on Your servant, O God, according to Your great mercy. If You are dissatisfied with our words, with this little prayer of ours, we beseech You, Lord, with faith in Your saving merits, with trust in the redemptive and miraculous power of Your sacrifice, offered by You for the sins of the whole world; We pray to Thee, O Sweetest Jesus! You are the Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, you were crucified for our salvation! We pray to Thee, as our Savior and Redeemer, save and have mercy and deliver eternal torment from the soul of Thy servant (Thy servant) (name) who has suddenly died, so often remembered by us, and do not leave him to perish forever, but make you worthy to reach Your quiet refuge and rest there, where all Your saints rest. Together we pray to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ our God, by Thy mercy accept all Thy servants (names) who suddenly came to Thee, who were covered by water, who were embraced by the coward, who were killed by murderers, who were hit by fire, hail, snow, frost, hunger and the spirit of a stormy slaying. , thunder and lightning struck, struck a destructive ulcer, or died by some other guilt, by Your will and permission, we pray to You, accept them under Your mercy and resurrect them into eternal, holy and blessed life. Amen.

Second prayer

Inscrutable and incomprehensible in the deeds of Your wondrous and wondrous looking at us, O Lord, and inexhaustible in mercy, our God! Look down from the heights of Thy Holy Dwelling and visit, and with Thy autumn grace Thy sinner and unworthy servant praying to You, so that by the all-powerful and all-powerful power of Thy Holy Spirit my prayer may be corrected before Thy heavenly mental altar, like a fragrant censer. Hear the voice of my prayer, O God, my God, and pour the gracious oil of consolation and strength on my weak, sorrowful and sad heart, embarrassed and cold about an unknown lot, according to Your unsearchable destinies, suddenly stolen from us by the death of Your servant ( Thy servants) (name). Oh, Most Merciful Lord! Do not turn away from Thy presence, but have mercy on his (her) trembling soul, called to Thy impartial judgment at an hour not expected. Turn away from him (her) Your righteous rebuke, do not reprove him with Your wrath, disturb and punish him with Your wrath, but have mercy according to Your great mercy, have mercy for the sake of the merits of the cross of Your beloved Son, the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ and prayers for the sake of His Most Pure Mother and all Your saints; forgive him (her) all the sins committed in knowledge and ignorance. Look with Thy humane eye on his (her) faith, trust, and hope in the saving merits of Thy Only Begotten Son, and accept his (her) soul from the maternal womb of the Orthodox Church of Christ, which suddenly passed from the earth, accept with Thy mercy, Thy goodness, gracious love Thy Holy Spirit, and instilled in the bosom of Abraham and rest there, as if here, in this life, I was worthy to partake of the Holy Life-giving, saving and immortal Mysteries. If its lamp - faith, from the impoverishment of the oil of love and good deeds, fades away before Thy radiant face, I pray to Thee, fill it, filling it all, with the oil of Thy goodness and the unflickering light of Thy ineffable love; kindle, O Father of lights and Light-Giver, her intelligent lamp, so that the deceased may see the light in Your light and glorify You with a pure heart; do not shut the doors of Your beautifully decorated palace from the unrequited servant (Thy servant) (name). Lord God and Father of heaven and earth! You do not want the death of a sinner, but you mercifully accepted from him and for him everything that is done towards conversion and salvation, and you yourself arranged his paths in every way, even as he lives, I pray to you, O Master Lord, deign to remember all the deeds of mercy and prayer, here on earth performed for the departed Thy servant (Thy servant), and accept the sorrowful and prayerful cry of my heart, together with the prayers for him (her) of the clergy of Thy Holy Church! I pray to You, Lord, have mercy, have mercy on Your servant (Your servant), weaken, forgive him (her) all his (her) sins and sins, done willingly and unwillingly, by reason and foolishness: heal his (her) much-painful soul, satisfy, pacify and enlighten his (her) heart, which is confused and enveloped in alien darkness, and as one who hungers and thirsts for Your mercy, fill Your eternal blessings; for it is Yours to have mercy and save us, O our God, and to You alone be due glory forever. Amen.

Christ Jesus, Lord and Almighty! In contrition and tenderness of my heart, I pray to You: rest, O Lord, the soul of Your departed servant (name), in Your Heavenly Kingdom. Lord Almighty! You favored the marital union of husband and wife, when you said: it is not good for man to be alone, let us create for him a helper for him. You have sanctified this union in the image of the spiritual union of Christ with the Church. I believe, Lord, and confess that You have blessed me to unite me in this holy union with one of Your handmaids. By your good and wise will you deigned to take away from me this servant of yours, whom you have given to me as a helper and companion of my life. I bow before Your will, and I pray to You with all my heart, accept my prayer for Your servant (name), and forgive her if you sin in word, deed, thought, knowledge and ignorance; Love earthly things more than heavenly things; Even if you care more about the clothing and decoration of your body than about the enlightenment of the clothing of your soul; or even careless about your children; if you upset anyone by word or deed; If you murmur in your heart against your neighbor or condemn someone or anything else you have done that is evil. Forgive her all this, for she is good and philanthropic; for there is no man who will live and not sin. Do not enter into judgment with Thy servant, as Thy creation, do not condemn her to eternal torment for her sin, but have mercy and mercy according to Thy great mercy. I pray and ask You, Lord of Powers, to grant me throughout the days of my life to never cease to pray for Your departed servant, and even until the end of my life to ask her from You, the Judge of the whole world, for forgiveness of her sins. Yes, just as You, God, have placed a crown of stone on her head, crowning her here on earth; Thus, crown me with Your eternal glory in Your Heavenly Kingdom, with all the saints who rejoice there, and together with them forever sing Your All-Holy Name with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

With contrition and tenderness of heart, I pray to Thee, merciful Judge, do not punish with eternal punishment the deceased, unforgettable for me, Your servant (s), my parent (mother) (name), but forgive him (her) all his (her) sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word and deed, knowledge and ignorance, committed by him (her) in his (her) life here on earth, and according to Your mercy and love for mankind, prayers for the sake of the Most Pure Mother of God and All saints, have mercy on him (you) and deliver him from eternal torment. You are the peace and joy of Your faithful servants, and we send glory to You with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Parents' prayer for children

Lord Jesus Christ, our God, Lord of life and death. Comforter of the Sorrowful! With a contrite and tender heart, I run to You and pray to You: remember, Lord, in Your Kingdom your deceased servant (Thy servant), my child (name), and create eternal memory for him (her). You, Lord of life and death, have given me this child. It was your good and wise will to take it away from me. Blessed be Thy Name, O Lord. I pray to You, Judge of heaven and earth, with Your endless love for us sinners, forgive my deceased child all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word, in deed, in knowledge and ignorance. Forgive, O Merciful One, our parental sins, so that they may not remain on our children: we know that we have sinned many times before You, many of whom we have not observed, and have not done, as You commanded us. If our deceased child, ours or his own, for the sake of guilt, lived in this life, working for the world and his flesh and not more than You, the Lord and his God: if you loved the delights of this world, and not more than Your Word and Your Commandments, if you indulged in sweets worldly, and not more so in contrition for one’s sins, and in intemperance having given up vigil, fasting and prayer to oblivion, I earnestly pray to Thee, forgive the most good Father, my child, all such sins of him, forgive and weaken, even if he has done other evil in this life, Christ Jesus! You raised up the daughter of Jairus through the faith and prayer of her father. You healed the daughter of the Canaanite wife through faith and the request of her mother: hear my prayer, and do not despise my prayer for my child. Forgive, Lord, forgive, all his sins and, having forgiven and cleansed his soul, remove eternal torment and dwell with all Your saints, who have pleased You from all eternity, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life: like there is no man who will live and not sin. You are One except for sin: so that when you judge the world, my child will hear Your most beloved voice: come, blessing of My Father, and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For You are the Father of mercies and generosity, You are our life and resurrection, and to You we send glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Widow's prayer for her husband

Christ Jesus, Lord and Almighty! You are the consolation of the weeping, the intercession of the orphans and widows. You said: call on Me in the day of your sorrow, and I will destroy you. In the days of my sorrow, I run to You and pray to You: do not turn Your face away from me and hear my prayer brought to You with tears. You, Lord, Master of all, have blessed me to unite me with one of Your servants, so that we may be one body and one spirit; You gave me this servant as a companion and protector. It was your good and wise will to take away this servant of yours from me and leave me alone. Bow down before this Your will and I resort to You in the days of my sorrow: quench my sorrow about separation from Your servant, my friend. Even if you took it away from me, do not take your mercy away from me. Just as you once accepted two mites for a widow, so accept this prayer of mine. Remember, Lord, the soul of Your departed servant (name), forgive him all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, whether in word, or in deed, or in knowledge and ignorance, do not destroy him with his iniquities and do not deliver him to eternal torment, but according to Your great mercy and according to the multitude of Thy compassions, weaken and forgive all his sins and commit them with Thy saints, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life. I pray and ask You, Lord, grant that all the days of my life I will not cease to pray for Your departed servant, and even before my departure, ask You, the Judge of the whole world, to forgive all his sins and to place him in the heavenly abodes that You have prepared for those who love Cha. For even if you sin, do not depart from You, and undoubtedly the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are Orthodox even until your last breath of confession; with the same faith, even in You, instead of works, impute to him: for there is no man who will live and will not sin, You are One besides sin, and Your righteousness is righteousness forever. I believe, Lord, and I confess that You have heard my prayer and have not turned Your face away from me. Seeing a widow weeping green, you were merciful, and you brought her son to the grave, carrying her to the grave; thus, having compassion, calmed down my sorrow. For Thou didst open to Thy servant Theophilus, who went to Thee, the doors of Thy mercy and forgave him his sins through the prayers of Thy holy Church, heeding the prayers and alms of his wife: here and I pray to Thee, accept my prayer for Thy servant, and bring him in to eternal life. For You are our hope, You are God, to have mercy and to save, and to You we send glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen!

Prayer for the departure of the soul from the body

God of Spirits and all flesh! You create Your angels, Your spirits, and Your servants, Your fiery flame. Cherubim and Seraphim tremble before You, and thousands of thousands stand before Your Throne with fear and trembling. You send Your holy Angels to serve those who want to improve their salvation; You also give to us sinners Your holy Angel, like a mentor, who kept us in all our paths from all evil and mysteriously instructed and admonished us even until our last breath. God! Thou hast commanded to take the soul away from Thy servant (Thy servant) (name), who is ever remembered by us; Thy will is the holy will; We pray to Thee, Life-Giver Lord, do not now take away from his (her) soul this nurturer and guardian of it, and do not leave me alone as I walk on the path; commanded him, as a guardian, not to go away with help in this terrible passage of her into the invisible world of heaven; We pray to You that He will be her intercessor and protector from the evil enemy during the ordeal, until he brings You to You, as to the Judge of heaven and earth. Oh, this passage is terrible for the soul that is coming to Thy impartial judgment, and that in the course of this passage will be tormented by the spirits of wickedness in the heavens! Therefore, we pray to You, Most Good Lord, to favor and send Your holy Angels to the soul of Your servant (Your servant) (name) who has come to You, so that they will protect, protect and preserve You from the attack and torment of these terrible and evil spirits, as torturers and tax collectors of the air, servants of the prince of darkness; We pray to Thee, free this evil situation, so that a horde of evil demons does not gather; grant me the honor to fearlessly, graciously and unrestrainedly take this terrible path from the earth with Your Angels, may they lift you up to bow to Your Throne and may they lead you to the light of Your mercy.

Prayer of Elder Antonia

Remember, Lord, the souls of Your departed servants, those newly reposed on this day, at this hour, at this moment, who departed from this world in the hope of resurrection: those who were burned in fire, those who drowned in water, those who froze on the way, those who died from famine, those who died without Repentance and Communion, and those who laid down their lives for the Orthodox Faith, the orphans and the poor...

When a loved one passes away, it is always difficult and his relatives grieve and grieve for a long time. To help the soul settle into that world, it is necessary to read the funeral prayer. You can do this at home and in church, lighting a candle for the repose.

Prayer for deceased parents

Living people turn to God to save the soul of the deceased and promote God's mercy. It is also worth noting the fact that asking for the dead helps the living to be saved, since they are tuned into a heavenly mood. This helps to take your mind off the daily hustle and bustle and protect yourself from evil. Prayer for the repose of the soul of a deceased parent helps to accept the inevitable and calm down, and it will also make it easier for her to pass the tests after the repose.

One of the ways to express concern for departed parents is to read the Psalter. It is necessary to read one kathisma daily for the first 40 days after the death of a relative. This will help ensure quick peace of mind for the soul, a feeling of freedom and the opportunity to be in Paradise. You can say prayer texts at any time of the day.

Prayer for the deceased mother

The loss of a parent is a difficult test for a person at any age, and in order to alleviate one’s own condition and help the soul of a loved one, one should turn to God. A prayer for the deceased mother is read both in the first 40 days after her death, and on all memorial dates, anniversaries of birth and death. It is worth noting that no one forbids reading petitions at any time when you want it. It is important to approach God with a pure heart.

While reading a prayer for the departed, you must try to renounce your own grief and despondency. Black grief is a serious violation of the commandments, which places a heavy burden on both the praying person and the deceased mother. It is worth saying that a petition for repose can be ordered from the church, but it is best to read the texts yourself. You should not use photographs or ritual objects, as this will be considered a sin. You need to take it and place it near the icon.

Prayer for a deceased father

The prayer text presented above can also be used to ask for God’s mercy for a deceased father. In addition to canonical texts, you can simply address the Higher Powers from the bottom of your heart in your own words. The repose of the soul is a complex religious sacrament, which is realized through church prayers and rituals. If you do nothing, then the person deprives his father of support and it will be difficult for him to go through the process of atonement for the mistakes he made during his life. The prayer for the reassurance of the soul of a deceased father should be read thoughtfully and sensitively.

“Rest, O Lord, the soul of your deceased servant (name), and forgive him all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant him the Kingdom of Heaven. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen".

Widow's prayer for her deceased husband

The passing of a beloved spouse drives a woman into deep depression and a feeling of hopelessness arises. In such a situation, it is important not to forget that the soul of a deceased person needs support. For this purpose, there is a special prayer for the deceased spouse, which must be read for the first 40 days after death. In addition, you should recite the Psalter daily, all 20 kathismas in order. It is also recommended to go to the temple to perform a memorial rite and order a funeral service, magpie, liturgy and memorial service.

To help herself overcome grief, a woman is recommended to turn to God with a request to give strength to survive grief and live on. He will certainly hear and give strength to cope with trouble. It would not be amiss to talk to the priest about the grief that happened. It is important to remember that a prayer for the deceased can be said in your own words, the main thing is that it comes from a pure heart, because this is important for the soul of the spouse to be reunited with God.

Husband's prayer for his deceased wife

There are prayer requests that no one can read for a person, and this group includes texts intended for widows and widowers. All the previously described recommendations are acceptable in this case. A prayer for a deceased wife can be read in church or at home, the main thing is solitude in order to be able to fully immerse yourself in dialogue with the Higher powers. It is recommended to pray in front of the icon, next to which you should light a candle. Say your petition with great faith in the eternal life of the soul and the meeting after the Last Judgment.

Mother's prayer for deceased children

The clergy recommend praying in church, but home appeals to the Higher Powers are also a life-saving remedy for deceased people. Prayer for deceased children and other people, which are said at home, is called the “cell rule.” There is a main petition for deceased people - a commemoration and it can be found in every prayer book. The Church commands to ask God daily for children who have passed away, reading the following text:

Prayer for the deceased unbaptized

The Church has an ambivalent attitude towards lost souls, that is, towards dead people who were not baptized during their lifetime, but there is a prayer that relatives can read for them. It is important to consider that you cannot order a liturgy in church for unbaptized dead people. Prayer for unbaptized dead people can be addressed not only to saints, but also to God, since every person who has lived a righteous life has the right to forgiveness and protection.

There are many legends about the holy martyr Huar, who is considered to be the patron saint of the lost. During his life, he did many good things, having the opportunity to help Christians who were imprisoned for their faith. It is worth noting that the prayer for the dead to the martyr Uar weakens the eternal torment of the unbaptized soul, but at the same time it does not guarantee him a place in Paradise.

Prayer for the deceased up to 40 days

Funeral prayer is considered an obligation of every believer. According to church canons, it is important to read prayer addresses during the first 40 days after death. All the texts presented above are suitable for this. It is important to take into account that prayers that are prohibited from mentioning at church services are allowed to be said in homes.

Prayer for deceased people should be read in church as often as possible. This should be done not only on days designated for remembrance, but also at other times. The main thing is a short prayer at the Divine Liturgy, when a bloodless sacrifice is made to God. This is followed by a memorial service, which is served in front of a special table. During it, offerings are left in memory of people who have passed away. You should also order a magpie, which begins on the day of death and lasts 40 days.

We should also talk about how to pray in a cemetery, which is considered a holy place where the bodies of dead people rest until their future resurrection. It is important to always keep the grave clean, and the cross is considered the preacher of Sunday. When coming to the cemetery, you need to light a candle and read a prayer. You cannot eat or drink at the grave, as this desecrates the memory of the deceased person. The tradition of leaving a glass of vodka and a piece of bread at the grave is considered a pagan relic.

Previously, in Rus' on Easter everyone prayed, both the church and the entire believing people, for dead orphans for whom there was no one to pray. You also pray, saying in your prayer:

Lord, our support. Our protection and hope. We come to You every hour, every minute of ours. Although our roads are all different and we will approach You at different times, we will still be one and the same. I pray to You, Lord, You are my Heavenly King, Father-Protector, all-forgiving and loving. Forgive and have mercy on the souls of my deceased relatives (names). Forgive them as only You can forgive. And have mercy, as only You, our just and merciful Father, have mercy. Forgive them for the sins they committed, knowing they were sins. But believing in Your all-forgiving pure heart, just as children believe in the mercy of their parent, and the sins that they committed, not knowing the sin. Forgive them and have mercy, Lord, my God, merciful Lover of mankind, I ask You, Your many-sinful and unworthy servant Natalya for all centuries, for all those who died without repentance, not having the opportunity to ask for forgiveness in their last hour, with their last breath due to misfortune or illness, being treacherously killed or unconscious. Forgive all those baptized and unbaptized, those who believe and those who have not yet believed: as only You can forgive in the immense glory of Your wisdom and love for mankind. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Your prayer can be one way or another, the main thing is to pray for the deceased, for those who are unknown to you.
Perhaps no one has prayed for them for a long time. Be it you.

About the deceased.

Remember, Lord, the souls of your departed servants, my parents (names) and all relatives in the flesh. And forgive all sins, voluntary and involuntary, grant them the kingdom and communion of your eternal good things and your endless and blissful life of pleasure (bow).

Remember, Lord, the souls of the departed and all in the hope of resurrection to eternal life, our departed fathers and brothers and sisters, and Orthodox Christians lying here and everywhere, and with Thy Saints, where the light of Thy face is present, have mercy on us all, for He is good and a lover of mankind, Amen (bow).

Grant, Lord, remission of sins to all our fathers, brothers and sisters who have previously departed in faith and hope, and create eternal memory for them.

Our sins are like debts that are passed down through family. If the guilty person did not have time to atone for his sin, then his descendants will answer for him. To atone for the sins of parents, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, it is necessary to fervently pray for the souls of the departed and generously do good deeds: give alms, help those in need, and often order prayer services for the departed in church. For the same purpose, prayer has been given, through which one can get rid of the faults of those who did not live according to the laws of God.

“In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” says the Holy Scripture. “Ask and you will be rewarded.”

Now I, a sinner, born of a sinner, bound by the bonds of sin from century to century, bow my knees before God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, before the Mother of Jesus Christ, the Holy Mother and the Ever-Virgin. I beg forgiveness for myself and my entire family, who came before me and who will come after me. Forgive, Lord, the sins of my family, for the sake of all that is holy, for the sake of all the saints devoted to You. For the sake of John the Baptist, John the Baptist, the forty holy great martyrs, for the sake of the milk with which You were fed, Lord, King of earth and heaven! For the sake of the Cross of Your Faith, for the sake of Your Church. Free, Lord, my family from punishment for our sins. For You said that You forgive Your debtors, just as we will forgive our debtors. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Now, forever and forever. Amen.

By praying for others, you yourself will be forgiven.

Among the deceased people there are those who did not know prayers or did not have the opportunity to confess before their death. For example, mentally ill people, people who died suddenly, and so on.

Someone should pray for these people, because how difficult it is now for restless souls. And therefore, do not forget what knowledgeable people said in ancient times: by praying for others, you yourself will be forgiven. Here you will learn about prayer for those who died in a state of insanity, that is, for mentally ill people. If you ask the Lord for those who are no longer here, then the Lord will hear you in the most difficult moment of your life.

Wonderful are Your works, O Lord, and there is no end or limit to the greatness of Your mind! Lord, in Your power to humble the proud, to destroy the greedy and stingy, to deprive the wise of reason. But You, Lord, reject destruction, save the perishing, help those who ask, admonish the guilty.

Lord our God! I intercede in my prayer with the remembrance of Your departed servants, who were unable to confess their hearts and souls before their death, through a crushing mental illness or for some other reason known to the essence of Your all-seeing eye. Incline Your ear to my prayer and soon hear and accept for permission and forgiveness all those who have fallen asleep without confession to You and Christian prayer. For I grieve and lament for these souls, the souls of the suffering and restless. Son of God, Jesus Christ, forgive and have mercy on everyone who could not ask for themselves before their death.

Lord, our Father and Heavenly King, rest their souls with the saints, now, forever and forever. Amen.

What prayer is read for unbaptized dead children.

This prayer is also suitable for stillborn children.

Baptize them, O Lord, in the sea of Your bounties and save them with Your ineffable grace.

A prayer for the unborn, read only by the mother.

Lord, have mercy on my children who died in my womb! For my faith and tears, for the sake of Thy mercy, Lord, do not deprive them of Thy Divine light!

Wife's prayer for her husband.

Usually they do not marry until one year after the death of their husband. If the spouses were married, then the wife should take the wedding ring. If she never marries again and remains a widow until her death, then both wedding rings, as well as her wedding things, are placed in her coffin. If a husband buries his wife, then her wedding ring remains with him, and after his death it is placed in his coffin: so that he can come to her in the Kingdom of Heaven and say: “I brought our rings with which the Lord God married us.”

Prayer:

Christ Jesus, Lord and Almighty! You are the consolation of the weeping, the intercession of the orphans and widows. You said: call me on the day of your sorrow, and I will destroy you. In the days of my sorrow, I run to You and pray to You: do not turn Your face away from me and hear my prayer brought to You with tears.

It was Your good and wise will that you would take this servant of Yours away from me and leave me alone. I bow before Your will and I resort to You in the days of my sorrow: quench my sorrow about separation from Your servant, my friend. Even if you took him away from me, do not take your mercy away from me. Just as you once accepted two mites from widows, so accept this prayer of mine.

Remember, Lord, the soul of Your departed servant (name), forgive him all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, whether in word, or in deed, or in knowledge and ignorance, do not destroy him with his iniquities and do not consign him to eternal torment, but according to Your great mercy and according to the multitude of Thy compassions, weaken and forgive all his sins and commit them with Thy saints, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life.

I pray and ask You, Lord, grant that all the days of my life I will not stop praying for Your departed servant, and even before my departure, ask You, the Judge of the whole world, for the forgiveness of all His sins and His indwelling in the Heavenly abodes, which You have prepared for those who love Cha. For even if you sin, do not depart from You and undoubtedly the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit is Orthodox even until your last breath of confession: with the same faith, even in You, instead of deeds imputed to him: for there is no man who will live and not sin, you are one besides sin, and Your righteousness is righteousness forever. I believe, Lord, and confess that You will hear my prayer and do not turn Your face away from me. Seeing the widow crying green, have mercy, calm my sorrow. How did You open to Your servant Theophilus, who went to You, the doors of Your mercy and forgave him his sins through the prayers of Your Holy Church, heeding the prayers and alms of his wife: here and I pray to You, accept my prayer for Your servant and bring him into eternal life.

For You are our hope, You are God, to have mercy and to save, and to You we send glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

You have sanctified this union in the image of the spiritual union of Christ with the Church.

I believe, Lord, and confess that You have blessed me to unite me in this holy union with one of Your handmaids. Forgive her all this, for she is good and philanthropic; for there is no man who will live and not sin. Do not enter into judgment with Thy servant, as Thy creation, do not condemn her to eternal torment for her sins, but have mercy and mercy according to Thy great mercy. Amen.

Prayer for deceased parents.

And finally, the most grateful prayer to those who gave life to you, and therefore to your children and grandchildren. Do not forget your parents, do not do bad deeds and deeds, for the sake of the holy memory of the one who is not there, but on whom sin will be laid for you. For your parents are responsible for you even after death. The Lord will ask them: why didn’t they teach their child to be wise? This prayer is read by children about their deceased parents:

Lord Jesus Christ our God! You are the keeper of the orphans, the refuge of the grieving and the comforter of the weeping.

Five ecumenical Saturdays are considered days of special remembrance of the dead:

1. Meat-free parental ecumenical Saturday occurs two weeks before Lent. On this day, the Holy Church prays for all Orthodox Christians who died an unnatural death (wars, floods, earthquakes).

2. Trinity Ecumenical Parental Saturday occurs before the day of the Holy Trinity (on the 49th day after Easter). On this day, all deceased pious Christians are remembered.

3. Parental - 2nd, 3rd, 4th Saturday of Lent. Instead of daily commemoration of the dead during the Divine Liturgy, which does not happen during Lent, the Holy Church recommends enhanced commemoration on these three Saturdays.

Clean parent days:

1. Tuesday of St. Thomas Week. This day is called Radonitsa among the Russian people. This is the ninth day after Easter.

2. September 1, the day of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist (strict fasting is required).

3. Dimitrievskaya parental Saturday is celebrated a week before November 8 - the Day of the Great Martyr Dmitry of Thessaloniki.

Prayer for the repose of Orthodox soldiers killed in battle for their faith and Fatherland.

Invincible, incomprehensible and strong in battle, Lord our God! You, according to Your inscrutable destinies, send the Angel of Death to another under his roof, to another in the village, to another on the sea, and to another on the battlefield from the weapons of war, spewing out terrible and deadly forces, destroying the bodies, tearing apart the limbs and crushing the bones of the warriors; We believe that according to Your, Lord, wise vision, such death is accepted by the defenders of the Faith and the Fatherland. We pray to Thee, Most Blessed Lord, remember in Thy Kingdom the Orthodox soldiers killed in battle and receive them into Thy heavenly palace, as wounded martyrs, stained with their own blood, as if they suffered for Thy Holy Church and for the Fatherland, which Thou hast blessed, as Thy heritage. Receive in peace of soul Thy servants (names), who fought for our prosperity, for our peace and tranquility, and grant them eternal rest, as they saved cities and towns and defended the Fatherland with themselves, and have mercy on Thy Orthodox soldiers who fell in battle with mercy, forgive them all their sins , in this life done in word, deed, knowledge and ignorance. Look with Your mercy, O Most Merciful Lord, on their wounds, torment, groaning and suffering, and impute to them all this as a good deed and pleasing to You; Accept them by Thy mercy, having endured fierce sorrow and hardship here, in need, cramped conditions, in labor and vigils, there was hunger and thirst, you endured exhaustion and exhaustion, you were considered like sheep of the slaughter. We pray to Thee, Lord, that their wounds may be healing and oil poured out on their sinful sores. Thou hast taken away our dear ones from us, but do not deprive us of Thy mercy: hear our prayer and accept Thy servants (names) who have mercifully gone to Thee. call them to Your palace, like valiant warriors who laid down their lives for faith and the Fatherland on the battlefields; accept them into the host of Your chosen ones, as those who served You with faith and righteousness, and rest them in Your Kingdom, like the martyrs who went to You wounded, ulcerated and betraying their spirit in terrible torment; brought into Your holy city all Your servants (names) who are ever remembered by us, like valiant warriors who fought courageously in the terrible battles of which we remember them; their garments there are in fine linen, bright and clean, as if here they whitened their vestments in their blood and were worthy of the crowns of martyrdom; make them collectively participants in the triumph and glory of the victors who fought under the banner of Your Cross with the world, flesh and the devil; place them in the host of the glorious Passion-Bearers, the good-victorious Martyrs, the Righteous and all Your Saints. Amen.

Prayer for those who died a sudden (sudden) death.

Inscrutable are Your destinies, Lord! Thy ways are unsearchable! Give breath to every creature and everything from those who bring into existence, You send the Angel of death to him on a day he does not know, and at an hour he does not expect; You snatch him from the hand of death, granting him life with his last breath; Be long-suffering to the new one and give him time for repentance; You cut it like a grain with the sword of death in one hour, in the twinkling of an eye; you strike him with thunder and lightning, you burn him with flame, and you betray him as food for wild beasts; Whom he commanded to be swallowed up by the waves and abysses of the sea and the abysses of the earth; stole them with a destructive ulcer, where death, like a reaper, reaps and separates father or mother from their children, brother from brother, husband from wife, tears the baby from the womb of the mother, casts lifeless the mighty of the earth, the rich and the poor. What the hell is this? Your look is wondrous and perplexing to us, O God! But Lord, Lord! You are the only One who knows everything, weigh, why this happens and why

Was it that Your servant (name) was suddenly consumed by the gap of death? If You are punishing him for his many, grave sins, we pray to Thee, O All-Merciful and All-Merciful Lord, not with Thy wrath to reprove him and punish him completely, but, according to Thy goodness and according to Thy unconditional mercy, show him Thy great mercy in the forgiveness and remission of sins. What if Your deceased servant in this life, thinking about the day of judgment, recognized his repentance and desired to bring You fruits worthy of repentance, but not achieving this, was called by You on a day that you did not know and did not expect at the hour, for that reason even more We pray to Thee, Most Gracious and Most Merciful Lord, to correct, arrange, complete the unfinished repentance that Thy eyes have seen, and the unfinished work of salvation; The imams have only one hope in Your endless mercy: You have Judgment and punishment, You have truth and inexhaustible mercy; You punish, but at the same time you are merciful; beeshi, and at the same time you are acceptable; We diligently pray to Thee, O Lord our God, do not punish the one suddenly called to You by Thy Last Judgment, but have mercy, have mercy on him and do not cast him away from Thy presence. Oh, it’s terrible to suddenly fall into Your hands, O Lord, and appear before Your impartial Judgment! It is terrible to come to You without gracious guidance, without repentance and communion of Your Holy Terrible and Life-giving Mysteries, Lord! If Your servant, whom we remember, has suddenly died, he has sinned so much, he is so guilty of condemnation at Your righteous court, we pray to You, have mercy on him, do not condemn him to eternal torment, to eternal death; Be patient with us, give us the length of our days, to pray to You all our days for Your departed servant, until You hear us and accept by Your mercy the one who suddenly went to You; and grant us, Master, to wash away his sins with our tears of contrition and our sighs before You, so that Your servant (name) may not be brought down by his sin to a place of torment, but may he dwell in a place of rest. You Yourself, Lord, having commanded to strike at the door of Your mercy, we pray to You, O Most Generous King, and we will not cease to beg Your mercy and cry with the repentant David: have mercy, have mercy on Your servant, O God, according to Your great mercy. If You are not satisfied with our words, this little prayer of ours, we beseech You, Lord, with faith in Your saving merits, with trust in the redemptive and miraculous power of Your sacrifice, offered by You for the sins of the whole world; We pray to Thee, O Sweetest Jesus! You are the Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, you were crucified for our salvation! We pray to You, as our Savior and Redeemer, save and have mercy and deliver eternal torment from the soul of Your suddenly deceased servant (name), who is constantly remembered by us, do not leave him to perish forever, but grant him the ability to reach Your quiet refuge and rest there, where all Your Saints rest. Together we pray to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ our God, by Thy mercy accept all Thy servants (names) who suddenly came to Thee, who were covered by water, who were embraced by the coward, who were killed by murderers, who were hit by fire, hail, snow, frost, hunger and the spirit of a stormy slaying. , thunder and lightning struck, struck with a destructive ulcer, or died by some other guilt, by Your will and permission, we pray to You, accept them under Your mercy and resurrect them into eternal, holy and blessed life. Amen.

Complete collection and description: a short prayer for the repose of the soul for the spiritual life of a believer.

After the death of our relatives, loved ones and friends, relationships with them do not end. Only visible communication is interrupted, because in the Kingdom of Christ there is no death. It is only an invisible transition from temporary, earthly life to eternal life.

Why do you need to pray for the dead?

Prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased is a continuation of our invisible connection. Orthodox Christians believe that the Merciful Lord grants forgiveness to their souls through prayer.

While a person is alive, he can repent of his sins at any time and receive forgiveness from God. But after death, the soul no longer has the opportunity to ask for forgiveness and intercede for itself. And we, living people, come to the Creator to help with prayers for them.

Advice! It is necessary to pray as often as possible.

After the death of a person, the location of his newly departed soul depends on how the deceased spent his earthly life, whether he believed in Christ, and whether he kept His commandments. Therefore, by fervently praying for dead people, we, the living, can accomplish for them the only and long-awaited good - eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

What do 3, 9, 40 days and anniversary mean?

Few of the deceased were honored before death with confession and Holy Communion, many die unexpectedly, and some suffer a violent death.

The deceased especially needs prayer support within 40 days of death. It is at this time that his fate in the other world is decided, “placement” in hell or in heavenly villages.

For the sake of the good memory of the deceased, relatives and close people are obliged to perform the feat of prayer:

  • do merciful deeds and deeds;
  • forgive ill-wishers;
  • tame personal hypocrisy;
  • regularly repent of sins and take Communion;
  • comfort the mourners;
  • give alms to the needy.

Day three

Commemoration on the 3rd day after death is performed in memory of the Resurrection of Christ. The soul is present on earth for 2 days. She is constantly accompanied by an angel. She visits places dear to her during her life, “visits” her favorite people.

Important! On the 3rd day the soul ascends to worship the Creator. It is on this day that prayers for her repose and forgiveness of sins are a particularly timely event.

From days 3 to 6, the soul, accompanied by an angel, beholds the beauty of heavenly villages. Gradually the grief that was felt when parting with the body is forgotten. The sinful soul grieves and reproaches itself for the carelessness of earthly life.

Day nine

On day 9, the Almighty again commands the soul to appear to Him. A memorial service on this day is held in memory of the nine angelic ranks. It is they who intercede for salvation and mercy for the newly deceased.

Day of the fortieth

On the 40th day, the soul again ascends to Christ to resolve its fate - the Almighty determines its location until His Second Coming to earth and the Last Judgment. It is at this moment that prayer and remembrance are considered especially opportune for the sake of placing the resting soul in paradise with the saints.

It is the 40th day that is significant in the history of the Church:

  • the prophet Moses talked with the Creator on Mount Sinai and received the tablets of the Law after a 40-day fast;
  • the Israelites, after a 40-year journey, reached Judea;
  • The Savior ascended on the 40th day after the Resurrection.

Anniversary of remembrance

The commemoration of the deceased on the anniversary of death is determined by the liturgical cycle - the annual circle. At its end, all church events are repeated again. And the anniversary of a person’s repose is his birthday for eternity.

The Orthodox Church keeps many examples of how the deceased expect prayers for them from living people: they come to us in dream visions, perform certain signs indicating the need for prayerful remembrance.

Christian love is eternal, and the dead are not dead, but are alive and love us, because the human soul is immortal. Few of the righteous go to heavenly abodes and enjoy the joy of communion with the Heavenly Father. This is why prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased is so important.

Important! An equally effective way to commemorate the dead is to offer the Bloodless Sacrifice for them during the Divine Liturgy.

Orthodox prayers for the remembrance of the dead

Prayers for the deceased are considered an important church ritual that helps the soul of the deceased find peace. What prayer to read for the deceased up to 40 days every day, what prayer for the repose of the soul up to 1 year for parents, relatives, husbands, wives should be read in order to correctly remember a newly deceased (recently departed to another world) loved one, a long-dead father, mother?

For up to 40 days, the souls of the departed need prayer. Prayers for the deceased, as a rule, are read by relatives at home or in church; the texts of the prayers can be short or long; on memorial days, prayers spoken in one’s own words are suitable.

For the first 3 days after death, according to the narration of the Holy Fathers, the soul is near the body. After 3 days, the soul of the newly departed deceased passes from earthly life to the spiritual world, where each soul has the opportunity to bear responsibility for the earthly deeds committed, to answer for the sins committed. On the 40th day, God's Judgment ends, and the soul moves to heaven or hell. The first 40 days are very important for the souls of the departed; prayers are especially necessary during these days.

Razgadamus considers it educational. The most important prayers for Orthodox Christians are prayers for the departed; an Orthodox prayer is read at the Liturgy in the church during the service, during the memorial service by the priests. At home, in addition to prayer, you can read the Psalter - this is the sacred book of psalms, which is read collectively, individually in church or at home in front of icons. Psalms for the departed can be read on the anniversary of the death of parents, husband, wife, or on any other day; they should be read correctly at home with a burning candle or lamp.

How to pray on the days of remembrance, what prayers for the departed should Orthodox Christians have? We offer the most powerful Orthodox prayers of remembrance, which can be read on Parental Memorial Saturdays, after the death of parents (father, mother) up to 40 days, or of a deceased wife, husband, relative every day. After Easter, according to the Orthodox church calendar, every year Orthodox Christians celebrate the holiday of Radonitsa or Parents' Day (in 2017 the date is April 25); We hope that the accessible texts published in this article will be used by many believers on the approaching day of remembrance.

Prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased

Prayer for deceased parents

Prayer for the deceased up to 40 days

A short prayer for the dead

Most of all, I believe in the power of clear text. I read a short prayer today, I liked it, I think the souls of mom and dad heard me.

It is imperative to touch on mourning topics so as not to forget about those who died, even if they died a long time ago, but need our help - prayer for the repose!

As far as I know, the canons of Orthodoxy for the newly deceased in the church, first of all, they order a memorial service so that the Lord will have mercy on his soul; prayer, if it is strong, helps both the deceased and the relatives mourning a loved one

I’m ashamed to say, I didn’t even know that there are special texts for the repose that can be read in a cemetery, etc. Yes, and never paid attention to anyone praying at the graves?

It is important not where to pray for the dead (at home, in a cemetery, in church), how to do it - consciously or as some people read the text automatically, memorizing it without delving into the meaning.

after my parents died I prayed until 40 days and after 40 days from the date of death. First, my father died, and then my mother died 3 months later. I understood from the priest’s story that it is better to read for the newly deceased in church during a memorial service, and at home of course.

The souls of the dead require prayer for up to 40 days, both as newly appointed ones and after passing through purgatory. We need to remember and not forget about those who have already passed into another world constantly, they feel our care - we mean souls.

If I correctly understood the meaning of the text of the prayer, can it be read about the repose and pardon of the soul of a deceased person?

This is why funeral prayers are read, so that the Lord will have mercy on the soul of the newly deceased and give him the Kingdom of Heaven.

I chose for myself a short prayer for the departed, REST IN THE LORD. I read it on Radonitsa, Parents' Saturdays on memorial days of remembrance from the day of death or on the birthday of parents. The text of the prayer is focused and intelligible, and tears well up when you read it.

I asked at the church and they said that you can remember the deceased on any day. It is better to order a prayer service more often, especially for those who have recently died under 1 year of age.

It is best to regularly order a prayer service for the dead in church. Reading a prayer once a year is not enough.

Some people say once a year. You need to remember the dead with prayer every time you come to the cemetery, and TWO times: first immediately upon arrival, then before leaving.

I didn’t know that the prayer for repose in the cemetery is read twice?! I'll find out - thanks for the tip.

Prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased

According to religious canons, the living need to pray for the repose of the dead in order to give them the opportunity to be in peace, enjoying the other world. The deceased will no longer be able to appease the Lord with daily deeds, nor will he be able to offer him a prayer, therefore it is necessary to pray for his soul to those remaining in this world.

Prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased are also useful to the living, for they calm their souls from worldly and vain things, filling them with the memory of the Heavenly world. The prayer service forces one to remember the need to abstain from sins, weakening the flow of righteous sorrow.

When we pray, we remember that the departed also grieve for us, helping us in our worldly life.

Of course, the souls of sinners who reject the canons of God during their lifetime and who live outside the church, even if they have been baptized, cannot count on salvation and mercy. In order to avoid becoming like them, it is necessary to constantly remember salvation in the other world.

When the servant of God lives his earthly life in accordance with the laws of our Father, daily turning to the angels and the Lord God, good things await him in earthly and heavenly life.

By offering a prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased, the living take a direct part in asking for Paradise for them in Heaven. The Lord will certainly show mercy to the deceased who lived a good life and remained loved by living relatives, relatives, friends and acquaintances.

It is also believed that the Orthodox prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased does not just help. Thanks to the fact that you ask for the dead, being alive, the dead will help you, being your messenger in the Next World, and this, you see, is definitely not out of place for us sinful souls.

Popular prayers for the deceased

Prayers for the benefit of the departed

It is possible to remember the deceased on any day. According to customs, Saturday is called the day of remembrance of all Saints and the dead. The dead are remembered on the third, ninth and fortieth day after death, then on parental Saturdays, on the anniversary of death, Angel's Day and Birthday.

There are many prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased. Here are a few particularly common ones:

In all the presented prayers for the repose, a request is made to the Lord to grant forgiveness of sins to the deceased, providing peace in another world.

Pray if you want to

Remember that no one is obliged to remember a deceased person. If you want to remember a deceased loved one, only then lift up the holy word, for only with a pure heart is it necessary to turn to God.

A prayer for repose coming from the heart can work miracles. Even scientists who are skeptical about everything that cannot be explained from a scientific point of view note the power of the holy word.

According to scientific statements, the holy texts of prayers contain a special combination of sounds, designed to bestow a certain internal emotional state on the one who reads and hears it, granting physical healing to the body, as well as simply peace.

If the prayer was pronounced correctly, you will feel like a certain weight is falling off your shoulders, giving you a feeling of special, grace-filled freedom, as well as peace. By praying, you diminish the pain of loss that torments your heart.
