About the university

In October 1930, the first higher educational institution was organized in Chelyabinsk - the Ural Institute of Industrial Agriculture, which in 1946 was renamed the Chelyabinsk Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture (CHIAME).

In January 1991, among the first ten agricultural universities in Russia, ChIMESKh received the status of a university (ChSAU). The university has had its current name - Chelyabinsk State Agricultural Engineering Academy - since October 2009. Today our academy is the leading educational and scientific-methodological center in the Urals and Siberia in the field of agricultural science and training of specialists for agricultural production and processing industries.

Over almost 80 years of its existence, our university has trained more than 35 thousand highly qualified specialists for agriculture, more than 1,200 candidates and 100 doctors of science. Among its graduates are more than 60% of today's heads of farms, heads of municipal districts and urban districts of the Chelyabinsk region, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and regional legislative assemblies.
