Childhood

The future celebrity's early childhood was during the harsh war years. He was lucky - he and his family managed to evacuate just a few days before the siege of Leningrad. But he will never forget how dozens of people and cars slowly moved along the “road of death” across Lake Ladoga, every now and then falling through the ice.

In childhood

He almost remembers his father - he went to the front early, where he died, only a short time before the Victory. His mother soon remarried, and Ilya was taken by his father’s parents, who gave him upbringing and education. With the consent of the mother, the grandparents adopted Ilya and became his formal parents.

Already in his school years, Ilya was very different from his peers. While the yard boys gathered in flocks and played war or musketeers, Ilya preferred music and dancing to such entertainment. He enjoyed working out in the ballroom studio, going to the Pioneer Palace to see “Skillful Hands,” and instead of playing football, he did gymnastics.

Nevertheless, he also had excellent relationships with his peers. Thanks to his innate sociability, he easily found a common language with his classmates and neighbors in the yard. However, the exploits of Soviet soldiers haunted him too - he planned to enter the Nakhimov School. But by the time he reached the right age, his dreams changed.

Theater

By the time he graduated from school, and his parents insisted that his average diploma be obtained at a regular school, Ilya already knew that he wanted to connect his future with the stage. In high school, he began attending a drama club and regularly took part in school plays. Therefore, he took the documents to LGIK.

And then the real test of strength began. In the first year, Ilya failed miserably in the entrance exams. But that time he was not too upset, realizing that his preparation was insufficient. He went to work as a laboratory assistant and began attending the preparatory department. But even in the second year he failed...

Grandfather added fuel to the fire, who began to insist that Ilya think about a serious profession and not waste years in vain. But Reznik remained adamant. He went to work in the theater as a stagehand in order to be able to observe the rehearsal process from the inside, and tried his luck for the third time. And again a failure.

Anyone else would have given up, but not Ilya. The fourth time he was finally accepted.

It was during this difficult period that he began to write his first poems. But then he did not yet know that it was poetry that would make him a celebrity. Poems were simply a way to reveal to the world my thoughts and state of mind that required an outlet. The lines were placed on the paper, and the paper was placed on the table, awaiting its time.

In 1965, Reznik received a diploma as a theater and film actor and was assigned to the theater troupe. Komissarzhevskaya. There he enjoys immersing himself in the creative atmosphere and, in addition to performances, is often present at actor’s gatherings and theatrical skits. And then he begins to try to write poetry for music and compose his first songs.

Songwriter

Reznik’s first song was performed on the stage in 1969. It was sung by the then aspiring singer Lyudmila Senchina. Pure and slightly naive, “Cinderella” quickly won the hearts of the audience, and Reznik realized that he was moving in the right direction. He continued to write and gradually became famous.

In 1972, he met the future prima donna of the Russian stage, who was already quite famous. By this time, Alla had already divorced her first husband and was actively building a career, for which she needed a completely new repertoire. She liked Reznik’s songs, and this marked the beginning of a long-term creative tandem.

It was for Pugacheva that Reznik wrote his best hits: “Maestro”, “Starry Summer”, “Without Me”, “Antique Clock”, “Three Happy Days” and many others. Tracks were written for Alla for the film “I Came and Say,” in which the singer reveals her soul to the viewer in the author’s monologue, interspersed with songs.

Their collaboration continued until the mid-90s, but to this day they have maintained a warm relationship.

Thanks to the songs written by Reznik, many other pop performers became stars. He actually brought it to the stage, which for the first time performed the composition in Russian in a duet with “Vernissage”. Moreover, this song was also intended for Pugacheva. But the prima donna found it too primitive. But Vaikule performed it simply brilliantly.

Presnyakov Jr. is still grateful to Reznik for the song that became his calling card for many years, “A Stewardess Named Zhanna.” For three generations of artists and thousands of people, they have been singing “Fiddler on the Roof” with pleasure. Lyubov Uspenskaya became famous thanks to the song “Cabriolet”, and for Tatyana Bulanova the song “Queen” became iconic.

Reznik's songs were performed by Boyarsky, Ponarovskaya, Gradsky, Rotaru, Gverdtsiteli and many, many others. In total, he wrote more than 200 songs, most of which are known and loved by audiences and artists. From 2006 to 2009, Reznik was a permanent member of the jury of the “Two Stars” show program. He is one of the organizers of the “new wave”, which until recently took place in Jurmala.

But few people know that Reznik writes for children. Moreover, he published his first book of children's poems back in 1974. He is a member of the Union of Writers of Russia. He regularly publishes collections of his poems, writes plays, and occasionally acts in films. But for us he will forever remain a talented songwriter.

Personal life

Handsome, sophisticated and erudite, Reznik enjoyed success with girls from a young age. Naturally, in his younger years he recklessly had affairs, and he is even credited with a romantic relationship with Pugacheva. However, they both deny this.

Moreover, by the time Reznik moved to Moscow, he was already married. He and his wife Regina stayed in Pugacheva’s house for a while until they found their own home.

Regina - Reznik's first wife

Regina was 10 years younger and charmed the ladies' man during their joint tour. She did not give up for a long time, considering Reznik an incorrigible womanizer, and only when he offered her his hand and heart did she change her anger to mercy. Two children were born in this marriage. But almost ten years later it broke up.

The reason for the divorce was the poet’s affair with an Uzbek dancer and choreographer Munira Argumbayeva, who became his new muse for several years. She captivated Ilya not only with her personal charm and unconventional appearance, but also with her typically Eastern attitude towards a man.

With Munira Argumbayeva and son

Being almost 20 years younger, Munira treated Reznik with awe and respect, recognizing him as a man and an extraordinary personality. In this union, another son of Reznik was born.

During the economic crisis in Russia, Reznik and Argumbayeva emigrated to the United States. The poet returned alone a few years later. He didn’t want to live in a foreign land, his wife didn’t want to go back to Russia’s instability. The son stayed with her. For almost 20 years they were formally husband and wife, until Reznik needed a divorce to enter into a new marriage.

His third wife, with an age difference of 27 years, was an employee of his musical theater, and later its general director, Irina Romanova.

With Irina Romanova

Famous composer Ilya Reznik is relaxing with his wife, Irina Romanova. The wife of the lyricist is a master of sports of the USSR in athletics and the general director of the theater of her 78-year-old husband. A woman shares photos from her vacation on social networks. Friends and acquaintances of Reznik’s wife noted that at 50 years old she does not look her age, as she still has toned, slender legs and a cheerful smile.

The greatest impression on Internet users was made by Romanova’s photo from the beach. She poses in a swimsuit lying on a sun lounger on one of the pebble beaches in Sochi. Next to the ex-athlete is a huge dish of fruit: watermelon and melon. “An unexpected surprise on the beach. Watermelon and melon from a mysterious admirer,” Romanova captioned the shot. Her friends suggested that it was Ilya Reznik who pleased his beloved with delicious gifts from the Krasnodar region.

Users of the social network admired Irina’s beauty, comparing her to the ancient Greek goddess. Among the pictures posted on her page, you can find joint shots with Ilya Reznik, as well as portraits of Irina taken by the songwriter.

Let us remember that Reznik and Romanova met 18 years ago, but were able to officially formalize the relationship only in 2012. The reason for this was problems in the dissolution of the composer’s marriage with his second wife Munira Argumbayeva, who lived in the USA. According to American law, he had to wait until his son turned 21. “I was waiting for my son to come of age, so I was in no hurry to get a divorce. But the time has come to document the absence of Munira and my family and consolidate my relationship with Irina, so I filed for divorce,” Reznik said in an interview.

According to Irina Romanova’s acquaintances, before she met Ilya Rakhmielevich, she worked as a masseuse in one of the beauty salons. “Ilya Rakhmielevich often came to pick up Ira, but did not go to her for procedures. Why, when there is such a craftswoman at home? Once I came to the salon with a huge bouquet of scarlet roses. Just like that - I wanted to please. We were all jealous!” Romanova’s colleagues said.
