1. Diyarbakir prison

The prison in the city of Diyarbakir in southeastern Turkey was built in 1980. Since then, it has housed many of this country's most violent criminals and is why it can be considered one of the worst prisons in the world. Diyarbakir prison is famous not only for the physical torture used on prisoners - people are also tortured mentally there.
